The results over the past three years are very pleasing and reflect the work that all our teachers and educational support staff undertake in developing the numeracy and literacy of our students. The Student Services Department continues to implement programs and strategies which both support and extend our students’ learning in literacy and numeracy. The College is also an active member of the CEOM LINC and AGQTP Programs working closely with other primary and secondary schools in our region. Our teachers and educational support staff have also been engaged in various numeracy and literacy professional learning activities which promote active learning strategies. 3.4 Average Standardised Results at Year 9 In 2010, Year 9 students were assessed by the National Assessment Program ~ Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) in Reading, Writing, Punctuation and Grammar, Spelling and Numeracy and achieved the following average standardised results (estimated VELS equivalent score). In all areas our Year 7 students have matched or exceeded State and National data.

The following activities “add value” to College life and exemplify how the College is living out its Vision and Mission Statement fulfilling its Strategic Plan (2009 – 2013): ‣ A comprehensive Religious Education Program; ‣ Retreats and Religious Education Reflection Days; ‣ College, Parish-based House Masses & Class Eucharistic celebrations; ‣ Seasonal Liturgies including ANZAC Day Commemoration, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Community Memorial Masses as well as Ash Wednesday and Grandparents’ Liturgies; ‣ A vertical Pastoral Care Program; ‣ A horizontal, sequential Personal Development Program and a vertical House-based Mentor Program; ‣ College, Full School and House Assemblies; ‣ St. Ignatius Day to celebrate our charism and ethos; ‣ Social Justice Groups, Youth Ministry Classes, Christian Service Programs and ongoing outreach programs; ‣ A Student Services Team that includes specialist staff, psychologists, learning support staff, a Home~School~Parish Liaison and a Careers and Vocational Education Advisor;
