read this letter - the CT Town Clerks Association

Dear Clerks,
Along with new terms on the Executive Board comes new terms for our committees. We thanked many
members at the April conference for their years of dedicated service to our Association and now it is
time to get some new clerks involved. Without the dedication of a great many clerks, our Association
could not do what it does. Compared with other states, we have one of the highest functioning
Associations due to this willingness to personally commit to our own destiny.
We have structured our committees so that we have the hands of many, the load is equalized and we
accomplished much. We also understand these days that staffs are short and time is very valuable to
you so we have restructured to conduct quite a bit of business via email and telephone so often times
you do not have to even leave your office.
There are many retirements coming up this year and next year of some of our most highly involved
clerks. That leaves us in need of new clerks to get involved and keep this Association moving forward.
We have made many strides in the past decade and continue to do so every year due to our
membership dedication. We have worked too hard to lose ground now. Please help the cause.

So we may continue the work of your great Association, please consider joining one or more of our
committees to help out in your Association. Select the committee(s) according to your commitment
level. Take look at the committees section of our By-laws to get a sense of what each committee does.

submitting your name for consideration on one or more of them.

Legislation – 2 (1 each from Litchfield & New Haven Counties. Term commences July 1.)
SOTS Liaison – 3
SEEC Liaison – 1
FOI Liaison – 2
Dept Public Health Liaison – 5 (We really need hospital towns more involved.)
Membership – 3
Mentor – 1 (New London County)
Research – 2 (1 each Windham & New Haven Counties)
Technology – 1

We also have several other openings for CTCA representatives with 2 other Associations we are involved

interest. Both of us would also be happy to answer any questions you may have about our committees,
their duties and commitment levels however keep in mind we are both attending the IIMC Conference
next week in Atlantic City, NJ. We may have some availability to check email during the week so we may
be able to answer you but we both will definitely be back in our offices the following week, Tuesday,
5/28.
