(They all start backing away.)

This Christmas has just been a little stressful for your mom.
I’ll say.
She’ll be okay as long as nothing…
(Snake enters from the other side of the stage, carrying a plate of cookies.)
SN
Hey! Mrs. H., these cookies are awesome. You should make these for
Christmas Eve. (Everyone is frozen looking at Snake, then shifts their view to
Darlene.) What
(Darlene slowly and deliberately walks over to Snake and takes the plate of cookies
from him. He still has part of a cookie in his hand, and she takes that as well. She
walks back over to the tree, holding the cookies and guarding the presents.)

Snake, ahh, we were all just leaving. Darlene, why don’t you take a nap
(She nods.) We love you, sweetheart.
Love you, Mom.
Love you.
(The last person to leave is Snake.)

Those were really good cookies, Mrs. H. (She snaps a glare at him.) Hey!
(Snake exits and Darlene sits in a moment of silence. She eats a cookie and lies
down.)

(Talking to herself) I just want this Christmas to be perfect.
