NAYON, meaning “village”, is a not-for-profit program founded to promote the cultural enrichment of
our Filipino-American children. This unique program introduces the beautiful culture and traditions of
the Philippines to our community and helps the children forge a life-long connection with their
heritage.
CHRISTMAS PAROL WORKSHOP
In partnership with the Southwest Simbang Gabi Association, we at NAYON are excited to host our 3 rd
annual Christmas Parol workshop. Each full-sized 3-dimensional Parol is made of traditional bamboo
which your family can be proud to display for many seasons to come! The children will also learn
about the history and origin of the beautiful Christmas traditions practiced in the Philippines.
Please fill out the attached registration form and send in with payment to secure your spot.
Spots are limited! Deadline to register is Tuesday, December 6, 2011. Please send us an

Description:
Continue the age-old Filipino tradition of decorating your very own Christmas Parol. Our 3-dimentional
Parol frames are made with traditional 18” bamboo sticks on which the children will apply special rice
or foil paper and decorations to customize their Parols. Your child will be ready and excited to display
their Parol this Christmas season and for many more to come.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION/POLICIES
1. NAYON reserves the right to cancel or postpone programs due to an insufficient number of
participants.
2. Parents must register for immediate family members only and sign appropriate forms.
3. If there is a discrepancy with the information submitted for registration, we will attempt to
contact you by phone. If we cannot reach you by phone, the registration form will be mailed
back to you and your child’s place in the program cannot be guaranteed. Be sure to include a
valid daytime phone number on registration form.
4. NAYON is not responsible for lost or late e/mail.
5. All registration forms must be signed. Those without signatures will be returned to the sender,
thereby jeopardizing registration and program placement.
6. A $25.00 service charge will be assessed on all returned checks.
REFUND POLICY
Because class materials are customized and prepared for the specific quantity of children that have
paid and confirmed, refunds will only be granted if the student cancels within 10 business days of the
date of the first class. No refund will be granted after the beginning of the series. All refunds are
handled directly with either Founder/Program Leader. When a program is cancelled or changed by
NAYON, the class will be rescheduled or a full refund will be given. Please allow 3 (three) weeks for
the refund check to arrive.
WAIVER/DISCLAIMER
NAYON offers interesting and fun-filled activities that are focused on the Filipino heritage. Please be
advised that NAYON and its staff are not all licensed teachers. NAYON retains several board members
that act as advisors and are licensed teaching professionals or have collegiate teaching experience.
Classes are undertaken at your discretion and are done so voluntarily. By signing this registration
form, you hereby agree to release NAYON, its agents and employees from any and all claims, actions,
damages, obligations or liabilities based upon any acts or omissions in connection with the activities
provided herein. Additionally, by signing this registration form, you agree to waive and relinquish all
claims and agree to indemnify and hold harmless NAYON for any of the above stated. NAYON makes
no promises or guarantees regarding any formal educational training in the subjects of language,
history, arts or any other course topic presented.

child/ren in photos, interviews or video clips by name, grade and/or school for internal and external
communications. My permission also extends to representatives of the news media, under the

NAYON events and activities. I understand that on NAYON’s website, my child/ren’s photograph may
