FOR ATTENTION
On payment of the required amount, one prescribed form of application will be
issued to the candidate. The candidate is advised to fill the said form properly and
after filling the said form, the applicant has to take nine photo copies of the said
filled form. There after the applicant has to submit 07 copies (One original + six
photo copies) to the undersigned along with 3 separate sets of mark list of all
examinations, testimonials, No Objection Certificates from present employer, caste
certificate if any, experience certificates, appointment letters, list of publications,
seminars/workshops attended, membership on various Authorities of the
University to be submitted in 07 copies. One application will be considered for one
post only.

Basic Qualification :
i. BE/B Tech and ME/M Tech in relevant branch with First Class or equivalent either in BE/B
Tech or ME/ M Tech and Ph. D or equivalent in appropriate discipline.
ii. Post Ph. D publications and guiding Ph. D students is highly desirable.
Experience:
Minimum 10 years teaching /research / industrial experience of which at least 5 years should
be at the level of Associate Professor. Or Minimum of 13 years experience in teaching and /or
Research and/ or Industry.
In case of research experience, good academic record and books/research paper publications/
IPR/ patents record shall be required as deemed fit by the expert members of the Selection
committee.
If the experience in industry is considered, the same shall be at managerial level equivalent to
Associate Professor with active participation record in devising/ designing, planning, executing,
analyzing, quality control, innovating, training technical books / research paper
publications/IPR/patents, etc. as deemed fit by the expert members of the Selection
committee.
In case of Architecture, Professional Practice of 10 years as certified by the Council of
Architecture shall also be considered valid.
Pay Band of Rs. 37400-67000 with AGP of Rs. 10000/-

(3) Associate Professor-cum-Deputy Director (Academic) at Centre for Distance
Education – (Open - 01)
Basic Qualification :
i. Good academic record with a Ph.D. Degree in the concerned/allied/relevant
disciplines.
ii.
A Master’s Degree with at least 55% of marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale
wherever grading system is followed).
iii. A minimum of eight years of experience of teaching and/or research in an
academic/research position equivalent to that of Assistant Professor in a University,
College or Accredited Research Institution/industry excluding the period of Ph.D.
research with evidence of published work and a minimum of 5 publications as books
and/or research/policy papers.
iv. Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and
technology – mediated teaching learning process with evidence of having guided
doctoral candidates and research students.
v. A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based
Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS), as per UGC regulations adopted by
State Government.

(4) Associate Professor in : (1) Electronics & Communication – (Open-1, ST-1)

AND
(i) Ph.D. or equivalent, in appropriate discipline. (ii) Post Ph. D publications and guiding
Ph. D students is highly desirable.
Experience :
Minimum of 5 years experience in teaching / research / industry of which 2 years post
Ph.D. experience is desirable. In case of Architecture, Professional Practice of 5 years as
certified by the Council of Architecture shall also be considered valid.
Pay Band of Rs. 37400-67000 with AGP of Rs. 9,000/-

(5) Assistant Professor-cum-Assistant Director (Language-English, Knowing
Marathi) at Centre for Distance Education – (Open - 01)
Basic Qualification :
i. Good Academic record as defined by the concerned University with at least 55% of
marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed)
at the Master’s Degree level, in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an
equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University.
ii.
Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidates must have cleared the
National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test
accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.
iii. Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-clauses (i) and (ii) above, candidates,
who are, or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University
Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D.
Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the
minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment
of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/Colleges/Institutions.
iv. NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such Masters Programmes in
disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.

(5) Assistant Professor cum Assistant Director (Commerce) at Centre for
Distance Education – (Open - 01)
Basic Qualification :
i. Good Academic record as defined by the concerned University with at least 55%
of marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is
followed) at the Master’s Degree level, in a relevant subject from an Indian
University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University.

Besides fulfilling the above qualifications, the candidates must have cleared the
National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test
accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.

NON-TEACHING POST
(1) Deputy Finance Officer (Open - 01) (Aided)
Basic Qualification :
i. Who is not less than 30 years of age and unless already in the service of the
Universities or affiliated colleges not more than 40 years of age.
ii. B. Com./M. Com of any statutory University with specialization in Budget,
Accountancy and Auditing.
iii. Who has administrative experience of not less than five years in a similar
capacity.
iv. Knowledge of accounts software is essential.
v. Proficiency in Marathi and English languages.
Pay Band of Rs. 15600-39100 with AGP of Rs. 6,600/- plus admissible allowances
NOTE:
(1) 30% posts are reserved for women as per the Government of Maharashtra Rules
in that behalf. (2) Persons with disabilities having at least 40% disability are eligible
for the post reserved for such a category. (3) B in the seven points scale with latter
grades O,A,B,C,D,E, and F shall be regarded as equivalent of 55% where ever the
grading system is followed. (4) Those who are in service should apply through
proper channel. (5) The minimum requirement of 55% shall not be insisted upon
for Professors, Associate Professor the existing incumbents who are already in the
University system. However, these marks shall be insisted upon for those entering
the system from outside and those at the entry point of Assistant Professor. (6) A
relaxation of 5% may be provided from 55% to 50% of the marks at the Master’s
level for the SC/ST/Physically Handicapped category. (7) A relaxation of 5% may be
provided from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. degree holders, who have
passed their Master’s degree prior to 19 th September, 1991. (8) A relaxation of the
minimum marks at the PG level from 55% to 50% for appointment as Assistant
Professor may be provided to the candidates who have cleared the JRF examination
conducted by UGC/CSIR only, prior to 1989, when the minimum marks required to
appear for JRF exam were 50%. (9) These relaxations will be made wherever
applicable. (10) The candidate is required to give his/her contact number/email id
in the application form.
The candidates belonging to reserved and physically challenged category can also
apply for open posts. The prescribed application form along with details regarding
the Qualification, Experience, Age and Pay Scale etc. may be downloaded from the
University Web Site sndt.ac.in
The duly filled up applications should reach the Registrar before 05.00 p.m. on or
before 30/08/2012. Applications received after the due date for any reason
whatsoever/other than prescribed form/incomplete applications shall not be
considered/accepted.
