• Analyze cash flow, cost controls, and expenses to guide business leaders. Analyze financial statements<br />
to pinpoint potential weak areas<br />
• Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating<br />
procedures.<br />
• In collaboration with the SMT developing and implementing investment strategies.<br />
Accounting:<br />
• Maintain the day to day control <strong>of</strong> financial activities for the FN <strong>Health</strong> Society<br />
• Budgeting/Project analysis<br />
• Oversee Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable<br />
• Develop a disaster recovery plan <strong>of</strong> financial records<br />
• Manage monthly, quarterly and year end close<br />
• Approve and coordinate changes and improvements in automated financial and management<br />
information systems for the company<br />
• Oversee the processing <strong>of</strong> revenue, expenditure, and position control documents, department<br />
budgets, general ledger account maintenance and data entry.<br />
• Monitor banking activities <strong>of</strong> the organization<br />
• Initiate invoicing <strong>of</strong> funding organizations<br />
• Oversee the performance <strong>of</strong> GL account analysis and reconciliations<br />
• Attend to statutory compliance requirements as required<br />
Financial & External Reporting:<br />
• Oversee the management and coordination <strong>of</strong> all fiscal reporting activities for the organization<br />
including: organizational revenue/expense and balance sheet reports, reports to funding agencies,<br />
development and monitoring <strong>of</strong> organizational contract/program budgets.<br />
• Coordinate the preparation <strong>of</strong> special analyses, and information reports to assist with decision making<br />
processes<br />
• Provide overall financial oversight monitoring and accounting practices<br />
• Attend Senior Management, Board and <strong>Finance</strong> Committee meetings; including being the lead staff for<br />
the external Audit.<br />
• Prepare annual budget based on department programs and anticipated operations expense<br />
• Prepare for and facilitate ad-hoc audits by governments or funding agencies<br />
• Manage reporting and invoicing requirements <strong>of</strong> government funders<br />
Contract and Procurement Management:<br />
Manage and oversee the contracts and procurement management functions including:<br />
Development and provision <strong>of</strong> all legal activities such as Letters <strong>of</strong> Engagement, contracts, and other<br />
legal documents and agreements as requested by Sr. Management<br />
Negotiation and management <strong>of</strong> all external and internal procurement (excluding HR/Operations) and<br />
contracting arrangements<br />
Ensure that all procurement and contracting activities are carried out in accordance with legislation,<br />
Society’s policies and procedures and principles and best practices<br />
Build and strengthen the existing contracting approaches and structural arrangements for contracting<br />
Regularly monitor and review all contracts to ensure services are effective, meet requirements and<br />
deliver required outcomes<br />
Governance and Compliance:<br />
• Interface with service agencies<br />
• Develop effective financial controls and policies to meet growing needs <strong>of</strong> Society
