which will show you how to take great photos, download those photos,<br />
and begin to edit them.<br />

Sally will show you how to download and begin editing your photos in Google Picasa.<br />

500 Words Workshop with ABC Open<br />
Would you like to learn about writing online Join the ABC Open blogging community<br />
<strong>Bundaberg</strong> <strong>Regional</strong> <strong>Libraries</strong> and ABC Open are teaming up to host a free workshop<br />
to help you get creative and start sharing your stories. Includes an introduction to ABC<br />
Open and the 500 Words project, why publish online, writing tips and tricks, and<br />
sourcing photos. A laptop is useful for this workshop but not required.<br />

The Winter Warm Up @ Gin Gin Library<br />
Get warmed up for winter at Gin Gin Library on Thursday 4 July, 4.30 - 5.30pm.<br />
Come dressed in your warmest winter gear - beanies, slippers, winter PJs, scarves, etc.<br />
There will be a craft activity for kids and yummy hot Milo and marshmallows to help warm<br />
the insides!<br />
School visits @ Childers Library<br />
Childers Library plays host to several school class groups from a local high<br />
school and primary school weekly and fortnightly. The children in these<br />
classes get to visit the library during school time. They are shown how to use<br />
the Library, the resources in the Library (and online) which can help them<br />
with their schoolwork, and they get to engage with and be part of the local<br />
community. While at the Library they have the opportunity to borrow items for school or recreation.<br />
To arrange introductory or regular visits at our <strong>Bundaberg</strong>, Childers or Gin Gin branches teachers/<br />
schools should contact the relevant library branch to discuss.<br />
Encyclopedia Britannica - free access<br />
There is a wealth of information contained in the online Library edition<br />
of the Encyclopedia Britannica. There is text, video, games, and more<br />
to help children and adults learn about every topic under the sun. The<br />
site is divided into 3 areas - <strong>Jun</strong>ior (6-10 years), Student (10-14 years),<br />
and Encyclopedia (older students/adults). You can find the link on our<br />
Online Databases page. You will be required to enter your library card number to access.<br />
Alice Greenup - <strong>Jun</strong>e author evening - book now<br />
City girl Alice Greenup answered an ad for a governess in North Queensland and lived the<br />
chook lit fairytale - meeting and marrying her handsome cowboy. The fairytale was not<br />
without adversity however, after an accident tested their love to the limit. Educating<br />
Alice is the memoir of Alice’s adventures.<br />
