PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
Congratulations to our new 2013 P&C office bearers. All positions were filled last night at the
AGM. We are looking forward to another successful year with the P&C organising their
calendar of future events.
I hope all families took advantage of Earth Hour last Saturday and turned their home lights
off. The SRC raised money from the sale of candles to start them off for the year. The goal
of the SRC is still to purchase pumps for the two water tanks. The water will assist with the
gardens that have been built on each campus.
We wish our boys and girls football teams competing in the Brad MacKay/Lance Thompson
Gala Day next Wednesday at Carss Park all the best. The day is a round robin style with
teams playing by modified rugby league rules.
So far the children have bought back lots of Stewart House bags. Thank you to families who
have looked through cupboards and filled the bag. This is the schools way of supporting this
excellent organisation where less fortunate children are able to stay at Stewart House, have a
holiday and attend school for a few weeks.
Family and friends are invited to the Easter Hat Parade on the Caroline Street Campus on
Thursday starting at 9.15 am. The children have made their decorative Easter headbands
during class time so everyone can join in.
This week and next are shortened weeks due to Easter.
Wishing all families a happy Easter.
Mrs Kidd, Relieving Principal
VALUE OF THE WEEK
This week’s value is co-operation. The value for the week is advertised in the newsletter so
that parents can discuss this value with their child at home. Parents can point out examples
of the value to their child so they can gain a more relevant and deeper understanding.
School zone safety
A reminder to parents about the operation of school speed zones around the Easter holidays.
Safety locks
Between 2011 and the end of 2012, 39 children aged nine or younger were hospitalised in NSW
as a result of window falls. New lock laws in apartment buildings will soon help to keep our
kids safe. Child safety locks are now required to be installed on apartment windows. http://
Bullying knows no bounds
When cyberbullying hits home - what one mum wishes she’d done differently. Because most
