Affordable, flexible ticket options
A team of DLR Community
Ambassadors are on hand to
help you use your railway.
The Ambassadors work in
the local community to help
people get around on the
DLR. They are fluent in a
variety of languages: Bengali,
Yoruba, Urhobo, Hindi, Urdu,
Sylheti to name a few.
Your Community Ambassador can arrange an Accessibility Trip
for you if you have any accessibility concerns or have never used
the DLR before. On the trip the Ambassador will:
• Meet you at your local
station.
• Show you how to use a
DLR ticket machine.
• Show you the lift or
ramp and how to find
assistance.
• Explain the DLR network,
maps and routes.
• Show you how to board
and alight the trains.
• Take you out on the train
to experience it first hand.
Ambassadors are also available at open days in community
centres and supermarkets to give you more information about
the railway.

• Travelcards, single/return tickets and rail passes issued by
Transport for London and mainline rail networks are valid on DLR
if they cover the zones in which you wish to travel. DLR operates
in zones 1, 2, 3 and 4.
• Using an Oyster card is the cheapest way to travel on DLR.
Oyster cards can be bought at our Information Points at Canary
Wharf and London City Airport or from local Ticket Stops. You can
top up your pay as you go Oyster and renew Oyster Travelcards
at our new ticket machines available at all DLR stations.
• Oyster single adult fare, zones 2–3, off peak, is £1.40.
Oyster single child fare (11–15), zones 1–4, off peak, is 70p.
• Under 11 year olds travel free on DLR at any time
(accompanied or with Oyster photocard).
• Freedom Pass holders travel free on DLR at any time.
