Biotechnology, and Aerospace and Aeronautics. Manitoba has notable strength<br />
in Environmental Sciences and Biotechnology. New Brunswick has both high<br />
specialization and high impact in Fisheries, and Marine Biology and Hydrobiology,<br />
and relatively high levels <strong>of</strong> research output in several sub-fields <strong>of</strong> the humanities<br />
and social sciences, including Family Studies, Gender Studies, History, and Literary<br />
Studies. Newfoundland and Labrador has high-impact research in areas related<br />
to Energy, Food Science, and Nutrition and Dietetics. Nova Scotia has strength<br />
in Optoelectronics and Photonics, and Paleontology. Ontario has produced highimpact<br />
research in Physics, Automobile Design and Engineering, and Classics.<br />
The focus <strong>of</strong> research in PEI on Agriculture and Veterinary Sciences is readily<br />
apparent. Quebec appears to have strength in General Physics, Chemistry, and<br />
Logistics and Transportation. Saskatchewan has a high level <strong>of</strong> specialization in<br />
Veterinary Science, Ornithology, and Agronomy and Agriculture.<br />
