AUTOMATED WEATHER REPORTING IN GEORGIA<br />
Automated Weather Observing Systems (AWOS) and Automated Surface Observing<br />
Systems (ASOS) measure, collect, and disseminate weather data via a<br />
network of sensors and provide users with current surface weather condition reports.<br />
These are reported through VHF frequencies via NAVAIDS and telephone,<br />
and certain airports choose to link reports to the National Weather Service for dissemination<br />
to the internet and third-parties.<br />
The capabilities, locations, and contact information of weather reporting stations<br />
are shown below and on the following pages.<br />
