Could you tell us more about the
traditions here
They have traditions that other towns
don't have, they have the tradition on
September 8 th they do the exaltation or
resuscitation of the Blessed Virgin
Mary they put the day before the virgin
in the urn, as when we put the Christ
at Easter and the resurrection of the
Virgin, it is also celebrated here in
Conchagua, in our country just some
towns celebrate it. We are also proud
of that, as part of the traditions here in
Conchagua we also have other
folkloric groups, the old fools, the
Moors and Christians they are folk
groups of Conchagua, indigenous
groups, what does it mean they are
rooted in the people of Conchagua we
have the story of the vaquita (the little
cow), this story has more than 322
years this is what has been rescued,
this is what identifies Conchagua, you
can see in other places that the Moors
and Christians they are named in the
same way, but the originality of this are
the steps, the dance.
What else could you recommend us
to do here in Conchagua
Well as you know one the main
attractive here is the “Pupusodromo”
where you can find a huge variety of
pupusas and other local dishes. You
can also visit the Volcano of
Conchagua.
