M A S K L I N E - U P 

3-D Strap 

TUSA’s patented 3-D strap is a true threedimensional 

design that snugly fits against the 

head’s natural curvature. The 3-D strap offers 

unprecedented comfort and fit unlike standard flat 

mask straps. 

Round Edge Skirt 

TUSA’s Round Edge Skirt features a proprietary 

round edge cross-sectionally shaped skirt. This 

rounded edge results in a soft fit that suppresses 

pressure and reduces creasing left on the face. The 

“planar fit, instead of linear fit” silicone skirt 

maintains great fit and unprecedented comfort. 

5 Angle Strap Adjustor 

The 5 Angle Strap Adjustor allows for a five position 

micro-adjustment on both the left and right sides of 

the mask. This enables vertical (up/down) and 

horizontal (left/right) pressure on the face to be 

delicately adjusted for the optimum fit. 

Hyperdry Purge 

Clearing a mask has never been easier thanks to 

our patented Hyperdry System. Simply breathe out 

through your nose and any water that has accumulated 

in your mask is forced out through a one-way 

purge valve. Once the mask is clear, the valve seals 

shut. 

Panoramic View 

Panoramic View masks feature a variety of designs 

offering an incredibly wide field-of-view. Several 

designs incorporate minimum frame volumes, 

domed side-windows, reduced frame structures as 

well as three and four window styles for maximum 

vision. 

Rx Lens 

Rx lenses are offered on several styles of masks. 

This option allows the diver to choose right and left 

lens powers in both a variety of diopters for 

maximum flexibility and for a custom fit.

The Quick-Adjust Buckle System incorporates a 

newly-designed low-profile buckle into the crystal

Reduced inner volume compared to traditional single-lens masks 

The lens and frame have been made bigger, but since the distance between 

the lens and the eyes has been reduced, the inner volume has actually been 

reduced in comparison with other traditional single-lens masks. Thus, 

clearing the mask, as before, is easy to do. Since the fitting line is large in 

proportion to the large size of the mask and because of the thinness of the 

frame, the mask is also more resistant to moving even in a current.

Propeller Technology 

TUSA’s split fins employ Propeller-FinTM 

Technology, which delivers ultra-high performance 

with a low amplitude rapid flutter kick. 

As the fin moves through the water its two 

wing-shaped surfaces create lift and forward 

propulsion like a propeller. Any water traveling 

over the top of the blade is funneled into and 

out of the split between the blades. Efficiency is 

increased while drag and effort is reduced.

Angled Blade Design (A.B.D.) 

TUSA’s Angled Blade Design is employed on 

the SF-15, SF-8 and SF-6 fins. A standard flat 

fin inhibits propulsion solely by fault of design. 

An angle between the heel of the foot and the 

calf of the leg remains when the leg is extended 

to kick. This angle causes 10% of the propulsion 

to be lost. The Angled Blade Design 

accommodates for this anatomical characteristic 

and ensures maximum efficiency throughout 

the kicking cycle.

EZ Strap and Buckle System 

TUSA’s EZ strap and Buckle System allows fins 

to be quickly and easily adjusted with minimal

A standard flat fin inhibits propulsion solely by fault of design. 

An angle between the heel of the foot and the calf of the leg 

remains when the leg is extended to kick. This angle causes 

10% of the propulsion to be lost. TUSA’s patented 27°angled 

blade design employed on the SF-15 X-Pert Zoom Z-3 

accommodates for this anatomical characteristic and ensures

In 1993 TUSA introduced the SF-7700 (IMPREX fin) 

to the market. This fin achieves strong propulsion by 

combining two different materials to create an efficient 

water channeling action. Since it first went on sale, 

over 600,000 divers have used it worldwide. The 

IMPREX fin has been the undisputed leader in the 

plastic fin market. Now, ten years later, it is moving to 

the next development stage. The next generation 

IMPREX Tri-Ex fin utilizes three different materials. 

First is the side rib (hard material), efficiently 

converting the energy of a kick into propelling power. 

Second is the blade (medium-hard material), 

increasing the efficiency of the water channel. Third is 

the soft pocket (soft material), enhancing the fitting 

comfort of the boots. The designers expanded the 

blade angle theory that had produced a strong 

propulsion force with only a light kick in the SF-8 

model. A fin testing robot was used to analyze on a 

computer the propulsion (speed) and the electrical 

load when kicking. Tests were also run using real 

divers in a water circulating pool. These tests were 

repeated many times, the result being that the blade 

angle was set at 20 degrees, the most comfortable for 

the diver. A smooth shape was also created, with no 

level differences between the foot pocket and blade. 

This means that compared with conventional 

products, less initial load (energy) is required when 

first starting to kick. The excellent fit and non-wasteful 

transmission of energy ensures that body fatigue and 

air consumption is minimized.

27° Tech Reasons 

When using the standard, flat fin, propulsion is 

inhibited solely by fault of design. When the leg is 

completely extended, there remains an angle of 27 

degrees between the heel of the foot and the calf of 

the leg, as shown in the diagram. This 27-degree 

angle causes 10% of the propulsion that is produced 

by the kicking motion to be lost. Because the fin is 

angled below the body, during the kick phase, the 

body is pushed up and toward, instead of straight 

ahead. With a normal flat fin, 10% of the diver’s 

exertion to propel him forward is lost by battling this 

upward force. With the SF-8 fin, that 27-degree angle 

has been incorporated into the fin. This means that 

when the leg is fully extended, even though the angle

Two Position Chest Strap Adjustment 

The chest strap limits the opening of the shoulder straps for a 

more comfortable fit. By using the quick-release clips, the 

user can customize the adjustment to the ideal position. The

Knife grommets 

The BCJ-7000 features knife grommets on the 

left-side-pocket in order to attach a small accessory knife. 

The oval design of the grommets allows the attachment of 

several styles of BC knives including the TUSA FK-11 Mini 

knife. The width of the grommets is from 70-100 mm.

Drop Down Right-Side Mesh Pocket

The TUSA Element dive instruments (IQ-650, SCA-251 and 

SCA-351) feature a deep stop function for additional safety. 

The deep stop mode is activated when a diver exceeds 80 

FT (24M) for more than 1 second. Upon ascent past 50 FT 

(15M), the computer will display a Deep Safety Stop screen 

and the recommended safety stop at 40 FT (12M) for a 

period of 2 minutes. This stop is highly recommended, but 

not mandatory and will not adversely affect the remaining 

No-Decompression Limits of the dive if it is not served.
