Look at pages 91-93 to choose a
question that suits the age of your
students and fits in with key stage 3
planning.
Look at the learning outcomes for your
key question (“So that they can...” pages
94-109). Select the outcomes appropriate
to the age of your students, balancing
learning about and from religion and
belief.
Look at the content for your key question
(“Students will learn...” pages 94-109).
Select the best content to help you to
deliver the learning outcomes in an
engaging way.
Turn the learning outcomes into studentfriendly
“I can” statements. Do this by
using the levels of attainment (pages 30-
31) and work out just what it is that you
want your students to be able to do as
a result of their learning. Be clear about
the skills they will develop. This process
allows assessment to be integrated
throughout the teaching unit, so that there
is no need for an end of unit assessment
activity.
Use some engaging stimuli and
imaginative activities to enable your
students to achieve the levelled
outcomes.
