Master in Clinical Investigation
Fellows pursuing clinical cancer prevention
research or participating in the NCI-FDA joint
training in cancer prevention may elect to obtain
a master’s degree in clinical investigation or its
equivalent.
Once accepted into the CPFP, each fellow
is responsible for arranging admission to an
accredited university offering a master’s program
that can be completed in 12 months or less. The
NCI will pay the tuition, fees, book allowance, and
fellow’s stipend during this year. It is expected
that all master’s degree requirements will be
completed by the start of the NCI Summer
Curriculum in Cancer Prevention.
Located to the right are some of the
accredited institutions currently offering a one-year
master’s program in clinical investigation (as
of January 2013), the degree offered, and the
application due date. Individuals wishing to attend
an institution not listed below should contact the
CPFP staff prior to application to the master’s
degree program. It is the responsibility of each
fellow to ensure that the master’s degree training
can be completed within the one-year time frame.
