Trojan Marching<br />

Band has played on<br />

the national stage<br />

for several decades<br />

Findlay<br />

The Findlay Trojan Marching<br />

and has established a record of<br />

xcellence spanning several decades.<br />

hey have performed for five differnt<br />

United States Presidents and for<br />

college football bowl games, including<br />

the Liberty Bowl in Memphis, Tennessee,<br />

the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans,<br />

Louisiana, and the Outback Bowl in<br />

Tampa, Florida.<br />

The band has also performed in<br />

such internationally-televised parades<br />

as the Hollywood Christmas Parade<br />

in California and the Orlando Citrus<br />

Parade in Florida, as well as performances<br />

at the Hollywood Bowl,<br />

Disneyland, Walt Disney World, and<br />

Universal Studios. The FTMB participated<br />

for the first time in school<br />

history in the Ohio Music Education<br />

Association (OMEA) State Marching<br />

Band Finals in 1999 and again in 2000<br />

and 2003-2010. Other<br />

performances include several local<br />

parades, adjudicated events, and all<br />

FHS varsity football games.<br />

This year’s program is entitled “88<br />

Keys”, designed by Chad Clum and<br />

featuring percussion arrangements by<br />

Justin Fujka. Billy Joel’s “Piano Man”<br />

features senior drum major Mikayla<br />

Brown on the piano. “Fur Elise” is<br />

an exciting arrangement of one of<br />

Ludwig van Beethoven’s most beloved<br />

compositions. “Clair De Lune”, which<br />

is French for “moonlight”, is a wellknown<br />

piece by Claude Debussy.<br />

The conclusion of the performance<br />

is introduced by senior drum major<br />

Shelby Fletcher on the Bb clarinet; the<br />

George Gershwin classic, “Rhapsody<br />

In Blue”.<br />

The Findlay Trojan Marching Band<br />

is under the direction of Tim Mattis.<br />

Assistant directors are Brian<br />

Sheehe and Michael Springer. Percussion<br />

Instructors are Justin Fujka,<br />

Brandon Agin, and Dan Eakin. Color<br />

Guard instructors are Chad Clum,<br />

Liz Clum, and Amber Mowery. Visual<br />

design is by Chad Clum. Drum majors<br />

are seniors Mikayla Brown and Shelby<br />

Fletcher and junior Daniel Baumgartner.<br />
