games, the Halloween and Christmas<br />
parades, the United Way Kick Off rally<br />
Sept, 30 and the Fall Marching Band<br />
in Review concert.<br />
They also make appearances for<br />
pep rallies at Our Lady of Consolation<br />
and St. Michael Catholic Schools.<br />
The band had a pre-band camp<br />
rehearsal July 19 and 21 and full band<br />
camp from July 25-29 from 9 a.m. to<br />
4 p.m.<br />
They rehearse every Wednesday<br />
night from 6:30-8:30 p.m. and two<br />
to three times per week during the<br />
school day.<br />

The <strong>2011</strong> Redmen Pride Marching<br />
Band is led by director Steve Kauffman.<br />
John Schindler serves as assistant<br />
director, and the auxiliaries advisors<br />
are Heidi Kauffman and Michele Johnson.<br />
The band performs at all home and<br />
away football games, the Fostoria Halloween<br />
and Holiday parades, at various<br />
school and community activities,<br />
and concludes the year on November<br />
1 with their Half-Time in Review Concert<br />
in the Wainwright Performing<br />
Arts Center at Fostoria High School.<br />
This year, the band will be performing<br />
six halftime shows, a new<br />
show for every home football game.<br />
This year’s shows feature the music of<br />
Earth, Wind, and Fire, Music from the<br />
Movies, the annual Salute to America,<br />
and more.<br />
This year’s salute to America show<br />
will be the 10th anniversary, and the<br />
Redmen Pride will welcome their<br />
alumni band members that week. The<br />
band will also welcome future members<br />
of the Redmen Pride on October<br />
7 for Jr. High night.<br />
Band camp was conducted from<br />
August 1-5 at FHS from 8 a.m. to 4<br />
p.m. There were summer sessions<br />
twice a week throughout June and<br />
July, and the band rehearses daily<br />
during class and Monday and Thursday<br />
evenings.<br />

Elmwood<br />
The Elmwood High School Marching<br />
Band Royal Pride is directed<br />
by Justin Brinkman. Brinkman is<br />
assisted by Josh Barringer, Jason<br />
Luthy and Nick Mickley. Crystal Williams<br />
is the visual ensemble instructor,<br />
Alvin Dawson is the percussion<br />
instructor and Jose Centeno is the<br />
senior field commander.<br />
The band performs in the Wood<br />
County, Pemberville Free Fair, Northwest<br />
Ohio Volunteer Fireman’s Association<br />
and Bloomdale Halloween<br />
parades. They also perform at the<br />
Wayne and Jerry City Memorial Day<br />
events. On Nov. 3 the band will perform<br />
a Sounds of the Stadium Concert<br />
at 7 p.m. in the Elmwood High School<br />
auditeria. In April the band will take<br />
part in the 2012 Azalea/NATO Fest<br />
parade in Richmond, Va.<br />
The band had their band camp at<br />
Elmwood High School the week of<br />
July 22 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.<br />
daily. They also rehearse after school<br />
Monday and Wednesday for an hour.<br />

the national stage<br />
for several decades<br />
Findlay<br />
The Findlay Trojan Marching<br />
and has established a record of<br />
xcellence spanning several decades.<br />
hey have performed for five differnt<br />
United States Presidents and for<br />
college football bowl games, including<br />
the Liberty Bowl in Memphis, Tennessee,<br />
the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans,<br />
Louisiana, and the Outback Bowl in<br />
Tampa, Florida.<br />
The band has also performed in<br />
such internationally-televised parades<br />
as the Hollywood Christmas Parade<br />
in California and the Orlando Citrus<br />
Parade in Florida, as well as performances<br />
at the Hollywood Bowl,<br />
Disneyland, Walt Disney World, and<br />
Universal Studios. The FTMB participated<br />
for the first time in school<br />
history in the Ohio Music Education<br />
Association (OMEA) State Marching<br />
Band Finals in 1999 and again in 2000<br />
and 2003-2010. Other<br />
performances include several local<br />
parades, adjudicated events, and all<br />
FHS varsity football games.<br />
This year’s program is entitled “88<br />
Keys”, designed by Chad Clum and<br />
featuring percussion arrangements by<br />
Justin Fujka. Billy Joel’s “Piano Man”<br />
features senior drum major Mikayla<br />
Brown on the piano. “Fur Elise” is<br />
an exciting arrangement of one of<br />
Ludwig van Beethoven’s most beloved<br />
compositions. “Clair De Lune”, which<br />
is French for “moonlight”, is a wellknown<br />
piece by Claude Debussy.<br />
The conclusion of the performance<br />
is introduced by senior drum major<br />
Shelby Fletcher on the Bb clarinet; the<br />
George Gershwin classic, “Rhapsody<br />
In Blue”.<br />
The Findlay Trojan Marching Band<br />
is under the direction of Tim Mattis.<br />

They also participate in the Tiffin-<br />

LAKOTA — The Raider Marchng<br />
Band plays all football games and<br />
arches at Cedar Point.<br />
The band participates in several<br />
arades including Bradner Day in<br />
the Park, Fostoria Halloween Parade,<br />
Bradner and Risingsun Halloween<br />
Parades, Fostoria Holiday Parade,<br />
Genoa Homecoming Parade and<br />
Memorial Day Parades and Concerts.<br />
At the end of the marching season<br />
the band has a concert where they play<br />
all of their half-time and pre-game<br />
shows and many stand tunes.<br />
The band camp location varies, but<br />
this year it was held in the new school<br />
building from Aug. 15-19 from 9 a.m.-<br />
3 p.m. At the camp they learned all of<br />
the pre-game, the first show and many<br />
stand tunes.<br />
Rehearsals are Mondays and<br />
Thursdays from 4-7 p.m., with a few<br />
from 4-8 p.m.<br />

Tiffin University/ Tiffin Columbian<br />
Marching Band Festival on Oct. 1 at<br />
7 p.m. in the Tiffin Columbian stadium,<br />
the Cedar Point Halloweekend<br />
parade, Tiffin Columbian Sounds of<br />
the Stadium concert on Nov. 8 at 7<br />
p.m. in the gymnasium, the Tiffin<br />

The band runs band camp five days<br />
