- A SUNDAY EXCURSION BY TRAIN INCLUDING ¨FIESTA CUBANA¨ ON BOARD -

Program
Pick up from your hotel in Havana at 09:30 in the morning and short tour by bus (together with
other international guests of the excursion) to the ¨Christ Statue¨ overlooking Havana Bay and
the city. Further on to the small idyllic train station of Guanabo, where you will board a nostalgic
train 1 , exclusive for the participants of this excursion. Enjoy a journey trough a typical Cuban
landscape far away from tourism, with ¨Fiesta Cubana¨, open bar 2 , dance and live-music on
board. On the way stop in the fields where you will receive a short introduction about the Cuban
sugar cane. Around noon arrival at ¨Hershey¨. The village was named after the American
chocolate king, who managed his sugar imperium from here until the 1940s. On a short walking
tour through the ¨Batey¨ with the ruins of the former sugar central and houses built in typical
Pensylvania style, you will learn about the history of the community. Followed by a rustic lunch
with live music in the garden of the former mansion house or at the romantic ¨Hershey-Park¨ on
the banks of a river. Back by bus in the afternoon. Arrival in Havana around 15:30 hours.
Guests booked to Varadero continue with a transfer from Hershey by taxi, microbus or bus
(together with other international guests). Arrival in Varadero around 15:30 hours.

- Tour according to the program by bus, microbus or taxi and train.
- English speaking guide.
- Open Bar (national drinks), dance and live music on board.
- Rustic lunch (main course chicken or pork).
- Transfer back by bus, microbus or taxi to Havana or Varadero.

1 Duration of the train tour approximately 1.5 hours. The waggons are in a rustic, typical Cuban style with
wooden or plastic seats and open windows (no aircondition). There are only 1 – 2 toilets on board. There will
also be other (international) guests participating on the tour.
2 On board a range of national drinks will be offered: water, soft-drinks, beer and Cuban cocktails.

Program changes:
The program is subject to change, especially in case of technical reasons (e.g. if the train is in
repair) or in case that some of the locations mentioned in the program are closed.
3 In case of not reaching the minimum number of participants (mainly in summer season) the clients will be
offered an alternative program on the spot or the money will be reimbursed. The clients will if possible be
already advised by CUBA REAL TOURS shortly before their arrival.
