Addendum #1 to<br />

Sealed RFP #S131305<br />

Due on Thursday, November 27, 2012 no later than 2:00 PM, MST<br />

Questions 1-11 are for both buildings:<br />

1. Will additional interior drawings be provided showing data room locations so wire distances can<br />

be established<br />

A:There will be basic floor plans provided showing data room locations<br />

2. Will the camera system be passive or active, that is will someone be monitoring it all<br />

time or only upon an event<br />

A:They will be passive – no one will be constantly monitoring the systems<br />

3. Will cameras need to have pan tilt, <strong>and</strong> zoom capabilities<br />

A:That will be up to the contractor to decide what best meets the requirements in<br />

the RFP <strong>and</strong> as discussed at the contractor meeting. The cameras must be able to<br />

provide the forensic quality as discussed – under various lighting conditions to<br />

provide facial recognition, <strong>and</strong> vehicle information.<br />

4. What is the expected field view of the streets <strong>and</strong> intersections<br />

A:That will be up to the contractor to decide what best meets the requirements in<br />

the RFP <strong>and</strong> as discussed at the contractor meeting. They must be able to clearly<br />

capture the forensic quality as discussed – under various lighting conditions to<br />

provide facial recognition, <strong>and</strong> vehicle information for the intersections <strong>and</strong> as<br />

vehicles <strong>and</strong> people pass the building.<br />

5. Do the cameras at BIO5 location need to provide coverage for the entire streets<br />

adjacent to the building (Cherry Ave. Warren Ave, Mabel St, <strong>and</strong> Helen St) or primarily<br />

focus on the intersections<br />

A:No as long as they are able to meet the answers in question 4 above.<br />

6. Who will install cable for the cameras The UA IT department or the contractor<br />

A:UITS through their established vendors<br />

7. Is there a published U of A st<strong>and</strong>ard for the installation of voice/data cable<br />

A:Yes


8. Who will be supplying Network Switching Equipment The IT Department or the<br />

contractor<br />

A:The UA IT Department<br />

9. What is the make <strong>and</strong> model of the recording device where the video will be sent to<br />

from the cameras<br />

A:This has not been specified.<br />

10. Is this storage onsite as well as cameras<br />

A:Yes<br />

11. Questions 12-19 are for the BIO5 Building only:<br />

A: Sent to Lilia in Electronic format, telecom is labeled<br />

13. Panasonic cameras can they be other br<strong>and</strong>s or mfg. of cameras to use if they are<br />

compatible is there a st<strong>and</strong>ard in place<br />

A: There is not a st<strong>and</strong>ard in place, with that in mind a compatible substitution is<br />

acceptable, where judgment regarding adequacy of substitute is at the sole<br />

discretion of the University.<br />

14. What is the model # of the cameras already in use<br />

A:UITS does not know what model # of camera is in use at Bio5. Cameras are<br />

internal but other building have one similar to SV-SW559<br />

15. Will any network infrastructure be required<br />

A: Potentially, dependent upon the number <strong>and</strong> location of cameras.<br />

16. Conduit – how should they look<br />

A: Make it look nice <strong>and</strong> if exposed to the building must match the paint etc.<br />

17. Hours of operation at Bio5<br />

A: 6am-6pm Monday- Friday but is a 24 hour facility<br />

18. Cables (what type of cables<br />

A: For Ethernet category 6 or 6e should be used.<br />

19. Is this a prevailing wage job<br />

A: No to the best of our knowledge this is not a prevailing wage job.<br />

20. Questions 20-25 are for the Vet Diagnostics Laboratory Building:<br />

21. Can they cut back trees<br />

A: Yes, but will need to work with Facilities Management<br />

22. Will be recording done here <strong>and</strong> sent back to campus<br />

A: Yes<br />

23. What type of camera license is being used Is the existing cameras analog, digital or<br />

hybrid


A: Current cameras on site only are Panasonic, with DVR, analog net coax with fiber<br />

optics<br />

24. What type of fiber optics are being used between Vet Diagnostics <strong>and</strong> Campus<br />

A: The VDL is connected to main campus over a T1 which is currently being upgraded<br />

to optical ethernet to operate at 10 Mb.<br />

25. Does the camera have to be the exact model or can it be compatible to it<br />

A: There is not a st<strong>and</strong>ard in place, with that in mind a compatible substitution is<br />

acceptable, where judgment regarding adequacy of substitute is at the sole<br />

discretion of the University.<br />

26. Is there asbestos at Vet Diagnostic Labs<br />

A: No.<br />
