LIEUTENANT COLONEL DOUG BUGADO
Lieutenant Colonel Harold “Doug” Bugado is the Deputy
Commander, 447th Air Expeditionary Group, Sather Air Base,
Iraq, located on the west side of Baghdad International
Airport. The group consists of seven squadrons
and group staff agencies. Additionally, the group
provides support to service members assigned to
base tenant units. As deputy commander, Lt. Col. Bugado
is responsible for supporting U.S. and coalition
forces with airlift, supplies and delivery of forces
and material within the Central Command area of
responsibility. He is deployed from his position as the Deputy
Commander, 436th Mission Support Group, Dover AFB, Del.
Lt Col Bugado was commissioned in 1990 following his
graduation from the United States Air Force Academy. He
began his career as a Supply Fuels Officer at March AFB,
Calif. and was later selected to cross flow as an Aircraft
Maintenance officer at Yokota AB, Japan. He has
commanded the 437th Supply Squadron, the 437th Logistics
Readiness Squadron at Charleston AFB, S.C. and the 455
ELRS at Bagram, Afghanistan. Prior to his current
assignment, Lt Col Bugado was the Commander, Defense
Energy Support Center, Middle Pacific, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
