<strong>The</strong> <strong>Change</strong> a <strong>Life</strong> <strong>Cycle</strong> is the primary fundraiser for the Mike Thomson <strong>Change</strong> a <strong>Life</strong> Trust, which was set up after the brutal<br />
murder of Computershare senior manager Mike Thomson at his home in 2007. Wanting to make a stand against crime in the wake of<br />
this tragic event, Computershare and Mike’s family decided to set up a trust that would help fight the causes and symptoms of crime.<br />
Improving crime detection through DNA sampling, trauma counselling for victims of crime and sexual abuse, helping to rehabilitate<br />
youngsters in conflict with the law and inspiring disadvantaged youths to become positive role models in their communities, are some<br />
of the areas that the Trust funds and supports.<br />
Computershare has committed to hosting the <strong>Change</strong> a <strong>Life</strong> <strong>Cycle</strong> every year and to match all funds raised through the entry fees<br />
rand for rand. Computershare and sponsors’ donations pay for the costs of the <strong>Change</strong> a <strong>Life</strong> <strong>Cycle</strong>, which means that cyclist entry<br />
fees go directly to projects supported by the Trust.<br />
