JUDO
Our following library book
describes JUDO, the Japanese
martial art that many of us may
have seen on TV.
Best Judo, by Isao Inokuma
and Nobuyuki Sato. Tokyo, New York:
Kodansha International, [paperback] 1986.
Authors are both past winners of All-Japan
Judo and Olympic Games and other
international judo contests. Both are
instructors of judo as professors of Physical
Education at Tokai University.
Instead of thinking of judo as simply a self
defense technique, it is considered as a
technique of spirit that the authors hope will
contribute to international peace and good will.
Contains over 1200 photos by representative
judoists of Japan with easy to follow sequence
with brief explanations and also a section on
body training.
