KSUDP<br />

• Various <strong>Protest</strong>s and statewide meet<strong>in</strong>gs and Campaigns from 2006<br />

August to June 2007<br />

• Eranakulam Corporation rejected the Loan first and accepted later due to<br />

the pressure from CPIM<br />

• Peoples Forum aga<strong>in</strong>st <strong>ADB</strong> issued an Open Letter to <strong>Kerala</strong> chief<br />

M<strong>in</strong>ister signed by More than 200 Organisations<br />

• Chief M<strong>in</strong>ister & 3 parties <strong>in</strong> rul<strong>in</strong>g Left Front was aga<strong>in</strong>st the Loan but<br />

Local Self Governance M<strong>in</strong>ister , F<strong>in</strong>ancial M<strong>in</strong>ister and CPIM (Major<br />

party <strong>in</strong> Left Front) was for the <strong>ADB</strong> Money<br />

• The Loan Implementation Date (May 6 th 2007) was a “Black Day' <strong>in</strong><br />

<strong>Kerala</strong> with closedown of shops and offices , as per the call for by Anti<br />

<strong>ADB</strong> campaign committee<br />

• Most of the ma<strong>in</strong>stream media supported the campaign But Loan was<br />

taken aga<strong>in</strong>st peoples <strong>in</strong>terest<br />

• Loan was signed without the <strong>in</strong>formation of people and even without the<br />

knowledge of state chief secretary & chief M<strong>in</strong>ister
