Why automatic plate cleaning // Save time & money The cleaning of the printing plates takes a lot of time during your production process. We asked some customer without an automatic plate cleaning system, how much of the yearly time they waste for washing. 20-25% of the effective machine production time is used for cleaning. 20-25% This means for example a production with 2 shift operation with 3000 h/year has 600-750 h/year only for cleaning, when the printing machine is not productive. // Why do I need to clean so often High volume of cleaning time There are 3 effective situations when a cleaning is necessary: • Cleaning after job set up due to dry ink • Cleaning after 3000-4000 sheets due to dust or dry ink • Final cleaning after the job // We can offer 2 solutions • Quick Plate Cleaner (QPC) The QPC is a machine integrated system which removes dry ink & dust spots without stopping the machine. A quick interim cleaning within 120 seconds is possible, with about 8-10 waste boards. A final cleaning is not possible. • Auto Clean System (ACS) The ACS is a machine integrated system which is able to make an interim cleaning within 6 minutes and a real final cleaning within 2 minutes with stopping the printing machine.
Quick plate Cleaner (QPC) // What is it for • Cleaning of specific dust spots on the printing plates on request of the operator during production Increases quality output and reduce stand still time of the machine due to dust • Continuous (automatic) cleaning of the printing plates during production Especially for fingerprints, reducing the stand still times of the machine due to dry ink on the printing plates • Quick plate cleaning of the printing plates at feeder stop Quick start of the machine after jam up or feeder stop. Waiting time for cleaning is reduced to a minimum; about 8-10 waste boards // How does it work The system consists of a moveable cleaning head with a rotating special sponge. The cleaning head is moving along the printing cylinder and removes dust and ink. The distance to the printing cylinder can be set in micrometer steps through the touch panel. After cleaning the printing plates the cleaning head is moving back to an integrated cleaning station where the sponge is cleaned for the next usage. // What are the specialties • The cleaning head is cleaned inside the printing machine longer usage of 1 cleaning head without exchange • The cleaning head is flexible to the printing plates thickness Less set up time for each job necessary • The cleaning head can be cleaned outside the machine Reduction of the spare part cost • You can add for final cleaning the Duo-Technik Final Cleaning Station (FCS)
