FILTRONA ENHANCES COMPLETE RYO PACKAGE WITH NEW POP-A-TIP FILTER AND PUSH-
AND-SLIDE BOX
Filtrona Filter Products has enhanced its RYO offering with the introduction of the recently
launched Micro Slim RYO filter in Pop-a-Tip format and a brand new RYO packaging concept,
the Push-and-Slide box. “This is the next set in a series of innovations being launched by
Filtrona for the RYO market,” revealed Chris Franklin, Innovation and New Business
Development Director, “all of which will boost Filtrona’s complete RYO package which is a cost-
effective, end to end solution offering innovative filter tips packaged in branded, retail-ready
boxes, bags or Pop-a-Tips, all from one trusted supplier.”
The Micro Slim RYO filter is the smallest RYO filter on the market with a diameter of just 4.7mm
and a circumference of only 14.7mm making it 40% smaller than king size filters and 12.5%
smaller than super slim filters. By using the new Micro Slim RYO filter in conjunction with extra
slim papers and less tobacco consumers can achieve the desired smooth and elegant smoking
experience whilst also taking advantage of the cost benefits of combining all these components
to reduce the overall cost per cigarette. In response to customer needs, Filtrona has extended
its set of Micro Slim filters to make them available in the easy to use Pop-a-Tip format. The
transparent film used to wrap Pop-a-Tips also provides end users with convenient filter tip
storage and protects them, keeping them clean until use. The menthol Micro Slim RYO filter is
also now available in Pop-a-Tip format.

The Push-and-Slide box represents a new concept in RYO packaging, and demonstrates
Filtrona’s ability to produce bespoke packaging as part of its complete RYO offering. The boxes,
which are the latest addition to Filtrona’s growing portfolio of packaging options, incorporate a
sliding section that can be pushed out at the side to provide end users with easy access to their
RYO filter tips. This convenient design also has a distinct appearance, providing RYO customers
with visual brand differentiation opportunities. The Push-and-Slide box, which is suitable for
storing RYO filter tips in Pop-A-Tip or Loose Tip format, was developed in response to customer
feedback and is new for the RYO market.
Filtrona’s new packaging service is available with any of the products from Filtrona’s extensive
RYO range of innovative, high quality filter tip solutions. The RYO range includes filter tips in a
variety of flavours, as well as a choice of sizes, and also performance options. All of the
products in the RYO range are available packaged in high quality, retail-ready, customer-
branded bags or boxes, in any conceivable shape or size, including unusual and novelty designs
directly from Filtrona. Filtrona can also arrange for the packaged products to be delivered to
any distribution centre the customer requests and its global footprint and multiple locations
mean the entire service is very cost competitive.
