Prince Edward Island has also<br />
added several new farms and trainers<br />
to its roster this season. Chelsey<br />
Barrett, daughter of John and Kathy<br />
Barrett, has returned from Texas<br />
and has opened Barrett Performance<br />
Horses in Hunter River. She will offer<br />
training, riding lessons, and colt starting.<br />
Shane Bernard and Amanda<br />
Hickey have opened Horseshoe<br />
Shoals Stable in Malpeque, P.E.I.<br />
which was formerly Two Bit Ranch.<br />
The farm offers beautiful views of<br />
Malpeque Bay and access to the beach.<br />
Laura MacDougall has moved<br />
from Nova Scotia to P.E.I.to open Seaglass<br />
Stables in Breadalbane, P.E.I.,<br />
which was formerly Echo Ridge. She<br />
is offering boarding and lessons.<br />
Venture Stables in Freetown is<br />
also under new ownership and offers<br />
lessons, boarding and a tack shop on<br />
site.<br />
Finally, the Annual Island Horse<br />
Council Gala and Awards Banquet is<br />
scheduled for Sat. Nov. 8 for the Rodd<br />
Hotel in Charlottetown. Contact your<br />
Island Horse Council representative<br />
