Steelhead <strong>Fishing</strong><br />

Book a trip to fish for the ocean-going rainbow trout-the steelhead. With<br />

catches of 20 plus fish a day common, this fish is fun to reel in and<br />

renowned for its trout-like meat. Side drifting bait is a fun, highly productive<br />

technique.<br />

Bar, located just 28 miles south of Clarkston,<br />

The Upper Snake <strong>River</strong> offers a rich diversity in fishing. A Snake <strong>River</strong><br />

angling experience may be booked for steelhead, sturgeon or the small<br />

<strong>Fishing</strong> the Clearwater <strong>River</strong><br />

Orofino Idaho was founded in the late 1800’s after gold was discovered in the<br />

area, hence the name Orofino which means fine ore. Nestled in the shadow<br />

of 720ft high Dworshak Dam this small logging community is located 40<br />

miles East of Lewiston, Idaho on the world famous Clearwater <strong>River</strong>. Orofino<br />

has much to offer: you can go explore the 57mile long Dworshak reservoir,<br />

take a tour of Dworshak national fish hatchery (the largest steelhead<br />

hatchery in the world), or take a short drive or hike to the surrounding areas<br />

and see lots of wildlife.<br />

Our trips here offer some of the best fishing in the world for B-Run Steelhead<br />

and spring run Chinook. The B-Run Steelhead is one of the largest strains of<br />

steelhead. The average size fish is between 10-14lbs and 15-20lb fish are<br />

common. These hard fighting steelies are world renowned for their size and<br />

fighting ability. Our spring Chinook are some of the best eating salmon in<br />

the world, these hard fighting salmon love the taste of hooks with limits<br />
