ERIC CHRISTIANSEN begins his first season as an assistant coach with the
Monarch and Lady Monarch tennis programs.
COACHING
CHRISTIANSEN previously operated
his own tennis academy in nearby
Newport News, Virginia, working with
top ranked juniors. He also served
as an assistant tennis coach at
Christopher Newport for 2004
and 2005. Being one of the top
ranked open tennis players
in the state of Virginia,
in 2006 he coached the
USTA/MATA Fed Cup Team.
PLAYER
Collegiately, he played at
the University of North Florida
where he captained the
Ospreys to a top five
ranking in the nation in
Division II. Christiansen was
regionally ranked in singles,
was a Top 20 doubles player,
and was an All-Conference
student-athlete.
CHRISTIANSEN currently resides
in Newport News with his wife JENNIFER who is
a marketing associate for Sysco. They have
one son Rainer Leif, born February 9, 2006.

DARRYL is married to JULIE TUPPER CUMMINGS, the former Senior Managing Editor for
Tennis Week magazine and current account executive with Norfolk’s nationally-known
printing company Teagle & Little and Powerhouse Advertising. They have two sons,
CLARK TUPPER born September 4, 1997 and CONNOR RICHARD born August 10, 1999.
