When Does <strong>IRB</strong> Review “end” <strong>for</strong> a Study<br />
<strong>IRB</strong> Presentation<br />
• Includes data analysis (not just recruitment <strong>and</strong> testing/data<br />
collection)<br />
• Be sure <strong>to</strong> notify of personnel changes (even new GA/RA)<br />
• When <strong>the</strong> study is completed – terminate <strong>the</strong> approval (notify<br />
<strong>IRB</strong> staff)<br />
• Expiration dates/renewals are PI responsibility!<br />
– Continuing review<br />
– <strong>IRB</strong> is not required <strong>to</strong> send a letter<br />
– Expiration date is on <strong>the</strong> approval letter<br />
– No work on a project can proceed if a proposal is closed<br />
