Platen movement is controlled from the<br />
front panel, by 3 push button switches,<br />
Up, Down, and Stop.<br />
A Ball seated screw fitting located on the<br />
crosshead accepts load cells and load<br />
transducers up to and including 50 kN.<br />
Equipment includes table top loading<br />
frame, with adjustable crosshead<br />
mounted on columns attached to sturdy<br />
base. Forces applied are generated by<br />
screw jack via reduction unit with worm<br />
gears housed in base casting. Motive<br />
Power is from electric motor via multivee<br />
drive belt and provides platen speed<br />
of 50.8 mm/minimum. Worm reduction<br />
unit is grease packed on assembly and<br />
should not need lubrication.<br />
