Her research in <strong>Chi</strong>nese Medicine (CM) started with a RCT on the effectiveness <strong>of</strong> acupuncture<br />
in induction <strong>of</strong> labor in the 1970s. It was revived with work on the effect <strong>of</strong> qigong in cancer,<br />
diabetes and hypertension and the use <strong>of</strong> Tai <strong>Chi</strong> to prevent fall in elderly. With wide research<br />
interest from perinatology, haematology to hepatitis B, she has been on editorial boards <strong>of</strong> 6<br />
journals, and has published 89 papers and co-edited a book “Challenges <strong>of</strong> SARS”. As Advisor<br />
in Integrative Medicine, she is now steering research, education and knowledge transfer to<br />
support collaboration among CM and western medicine practitioners.
