with German quality!
GUTEX insulating wood fibreboards
are the ideal choice for both home
improvement and new buildings,
fulfilling all structural and environmental
requirements. Some of their most
distinct qualities are:
- Low thermal conductivity, which
guarantees excellent protection in
winter against cold
- Highest possible volumetric heat
capacity for the best protection
against heat in summer
- Superb water vapour permeable
design, which regulates humidity and
produces pleasant interior living conditions
2
- Unsurpassed absorption of impact
and structural noise
- Easy, problem-free disposal and recycling
- Biological safety and environmental
compatibility: GUTEX insulation
boards are manufactured from raw
material obtained from local Black
Forest forests where only sustained
forestry practices are employed.
All GUTEX products undergo stringent
quality control tests by GUTEX and are
subject to approval by an independent,
authorised test and certification agency
(FMPA, Stuttgart).
GUTEX’s quality and environmental
protection management system, certified
Above Rafter Insulation
GUTEX Multiplex-top, GUTEX Ultratherm,
GUTEX Thermosafe-homogen, GUTEX Thermosafe
When most people think
of insulation, they think of
insulation against the cold.
However, if the area of a
building involved is the roof,
insulation against heat in summer
is also extremely important.
To avoid unpleasant heat
in areas directly under roofs,
insulation materials with higher
volumetric heat storage
capacity and lower thermal
conductivity are required.
GUTEX insulation boards are
specifically engineered to provide
the optimum combination
of these two properties.
Fastening with
special screws
Besides the above-mentioned
attributes, GUTEX insulation
boards provide superior
soundproofing, vapour perme-ability
and moisture regulation.
Moreover, the boards
install in thicknesses up to
200 mm in a single work step,
saving time and money!
For between rafter applications,
it is important that the
insulation boards have sufficient
flexibility and resilience
to enable them to bend,
return to original form and
join and fit tightly. GUTEX
Thermoflex wood fibreboard
meets all these criteria, performing
superbly in framed
and between rafter structures.
Renovation of Walls
Upgrading the interior sides of exterior walls
with GUTEX Thermoroom
There are various reasons
why exterior walls in older
buildings often can only be
insulated from the inside.
GUTEX Thermoroom was
specifically designed for such
situations. Thanks to its single-ply,
homogenous construction,
GUTEX Thermoroom
adheres with plaster
to the substrate for simple,
quick installation without
mechanical fasteners. Woodfibre
insulation boards offer
many advantages, including
excellent insulation against
heat and cold, increased
soundproofing, biological
safety, all of which are essential
for a pleasant, healthy
12
living environment.
Today, discerning homeowners
and developers
demand biologically safe
building products that are
healthy and provide consistent,
lasting thermal insulation
of outer walls. GUTEX
Thermoroom has been
awarded the natureplus ® seal
of quality, an international
label verifying that building
prod-ucts and furnishings
bearing this mark are biologically
safe and are manufactured
using environmentcompatible
techniques from
raw materials obtained
through sustainable forestry
practices.
Wood framed houses often
have a second plane on the
inside of exterior walls where
the power, heating and plumbing
lines are installed.
GUTEX Thermoinstal installs
with full surface contact to
the sheathing. The worker
cuts the channels in the board
prior to covering it with wallboard.
Insulation in such areas
provides the entire building
element with effective thermal
and sound insulation.
open areas into rooms, lightweight
partition walls must
meet soundproofing and fire
protection requirements.
Thanks to their open-pore
structure, wood fibreboards
absorb both structure born
noise and indirect reflected
sound. GUTEX fibreboards
are classified with fire ratings
of F30 to F90 for use with
Insulation against the heat in summer
GUTEX wood insulation boards protect living
areas from high temperatures, in particular,
areas under the roof. Thanks to their high thermal storage
capacity, they effectively dampen the flow of warmth from
exterior to interior areas.
Insulation against the cold in winter
Effective insulation reduces heating bills and creates
a comfortable living environment in winter.
Due to their low thermal conductivity (λ D = 0.037 W/mK),
GUTEX insulating wood fibreboards provide optimum insulation
in winter, protecting the interior of houses from
heat loss and ingression of cold.
Pleasant living environment
GUTEX wood fibre insulation boards are
vapour permeable (µ = 3), regulating the living
environment with their ability to absorb and release up to
20% of their weight in moisture without the loss of their
insulation capacity.
Soundproofing
The open-pore structure of GUTEX wood
fibreboards and their high absorption volume
contribute to their ability to deliver superb soundproofing
against airborne and impact noise.
Fire protection
GUTEX wood fibre insulation boards easily comply
with fire protection regulations. Various individual
certificates of approval are available for F30-B to F90-B fire
resistance ratings.
Environmental compatibility
The raw material for all GUTEX insulation boards
comes from wood that is harvested and grown
using sustained forestry management practices.
GUTEX exclusively uses untreated spruce and fir chips
and shavings, which are by-products obtained from other
timber manufacturing processes. All GUTEX insulation
boards are tested and certified as biologically safe and
compatible with other building materials (natureplus © seal
of quality).
Recyclability
GUTEX wood fibreboards are completely
recyclable and, provided wood preservatives have
not contaminated them, can be disposed of at the nearest
recovery centre.
User friendly
GUTEX insulation boards, manufactured according
to the highest quality standards, are characterised
by absolutely minimum dimensional deviation. This,
combined with the detailed installation instructions
provided by the manufacturer, makes GUTEX products a
pleasure to work with.
Made in Germany
For more than 80 years, GUTEX, a family
owned and operated company, has
manufactured insulation boards at its plant in Waldshut-
Tiengen, which is located in the southern Black
Forest. All GUTEX insulation boards carry the CE and
U marks and are produced according to the current
applicable standards. GUTEX’s external thermal insulation
system (ETICS) is approved by the German building
authorities.
GUTEX’s customer service
An important part of GUTEX’s customer service is its
qualified assistance. Whether you require help with a
private single-family house or commercial property,
GUTEX’s trained and qualified staff will gladly assist you.
GUTEX product training
Architects, craftsmen, wholesalers, sales staffs and de-
velopers can benefit from the workshops GUTEX offers,
which address specific topics, such as the application of
physics to the building trade, construction techniques,
product applications, etc. Visit our website for further
