14. Additional assessment may be made for purposes benefiting the club, other
than entertainment of part of its members, in an amount totaling for the academic
year, September 1 through August 31 following no more than $5.00 per month.
Additional assessments require the approval of two-thirds of the membership
present at a regular meeting no less than one month following that regular
meeting at which the purpose of the particular assessment is announced.
25. Expenditures may be authorized by the President, either the Primary or
Secondary Faculty Advisor, and either the Vice President or Treasurer.
Disbursements may be made by the President Pro-Tempore only on the approval
of both the Primary and Secondary Advisors.
36. All funds not expended after the last regular meeting of any semester shall be
entered into the treasury of the next semester. That amount shall be no less than
$150, and no expenditures may be approved which would likely endanger this
limit.
47. All monies belonging to this organization shall be deposited and disbursed
through a bank account established for this organization at the Student
Organization Finance Center and/or the Fiscal Office. All funds must be
deposited within 24 hours after collection. The advisor to this organization
must approve and sign each expenditure before payment.
Article VI. Elective Officers
11. The elective officers of the Chapter shall consist of the President, Vice
president, Secretary, and Treasurer. Each candidate for President shall hold or be
an applicant for membership in the American Meteorological Society of the
category of at least student member. For benefit of national recognition, all
candidates for office are urged to hold student membership, or at least associate
membership.
22. The officers of this organization must meet the following requirements:
a. Have a minimum grade point ratio (GPR) as stated below and meet that
minimum GPR in the semester immediately prior to the
election/appointment, the semester of election/appointment and
semesters during the term of office.
01) For undergraduate students, the minimum GPR is 2.00. In order
for this provision to be met, at least six hours (half-time credits) must
have been taken for the semester under consideration. In one limited
circumstance, summer semester hours may be applied to this
provision. In order for summer coursework to qualify toward a grade
point ratio prior to election/appointment, at least six credit hours
must have been taken during the course of either the full or two
summer session(s).
12) For graduate level students the minimum GPR is a 3.00. In order
for this provision to be met, at least four hours (half-time credits)
must have been taken for the semester under consideration. In one
limited circumstance, summer semester hours may be applied to this
