In March 1984 another facelift saw the release of the VK which had now
become a six-light (window) body from the German Opel Senator of 1977.
Flagship of the range was the ‘Calais’ which replaced the previous SL/E. More
and more electronic controls were being used by many manufacturers for
engine management systems, suspension, steering and automatic
transmission.
