S UMMARY P ROFILE<br />
Steve <strong>Person</strong> has held the position <strong>of</strong> Director <strong>of</strong> Parks & Recreation in Suburban Chicago and as the Recreation<br />
Superintendent at the City <strong>of</strong> Fort Lauderdale Park and Recreation Department. His responsibilities included developing<br />
and managing an 8.5 million dollar budget, a staff <strong>of</strong> 44 full time Recreation Pr<strong>of</strong>essionals as well as 160 part time and<br />
seasonal employees. Departments under his leadership have been awarded the National Recreation and Park Association<br />
Gold Medal, the National Aquatics Award, the National Dorothy Mullen Arts and Humanities Award and several other state<br />
and local honors. He was Chairperson for the N.R.PA. and North Carolina State Business School where he served on the<br />
Board <strong>of</strong> Regents and as an instructor for twelve years. Steve has served as a consultant to several Municipalities and as<br />
spoken at numerous conferences and workshops on the topics <strong>of</strong> Special Events, Management and Employee<br />
Development.<br />
