1. Vilnius Pedagogical University is main institution, preparing teachers in Lithuania. VPU is organizing an international conference on<br />

issues of LIFE skills/competences in university progammes for training teachers: „ The Social – educational Role of Pedagogue:<br />

Reality and Expectations “, which will be held on 22-23 October 2009 at the Conference Hall of Vilnius Pedagogical University:<br />

Studentų St. 39, LT-08106 Vilnius. More about the conference: http://www.vpu.lt/index.php1267684349. In April, 2009 a meeting<br />

with specialists from Vilnius Pedagogical University, was held. Zivile Sederaviciute is vice-dean of Faculty of Natural sciences and<br />

member of organizing team of the conference. Marijampole VET Centre project team introduced LIFE project to the conference team<br />

and discussed possibility to present it during the conference. Marijampole Vet Centre will send 4 vocation teachers to represent our<br />

institution as well as Leonardo da Vinci LIFE project during the conference.<br />

2. Application for Leonardo da Vinci VETPRO mobility project was submitted and was approved by the NA, based on the idea and<br />

future results of the ToI LIFE SKILLS. 30 teachers and trainers from 6 Lithuanian institutions will go on study visits to 6 EU countries<br />

in order to find out how life skills are installed in vocational programmes in other EU countries. 3 countries from ToI partnership take<br />

part in this project (Norton Radstock (UK), Cyprus and Spain), and 3 new countries/insitutitons are involved: Scotland (UK), SE and<br />

FI. This way the idea of ToI LIFE Skills was spread across Lithuania and other countries of the EU. Moreover, National Agency of LT<br />

appreciated the fact that tow Leonardo programs are linked together in one project, one being extension and implementation of the<br />

results/outcomes of the other. LdV mobility project for VET teachers is called “Implementing key competences for life into vocational<br />

programmes”, No. LLP-LdV-VETPRO-2009-LT-0268.<br />

competences for life into vocational programmes”,<br />
