It Is Time To Celebrate The Unsung Heroes!
There are many people like workers, employees and volunteers who make sacrifices in order to breathe, live
and work without expecting anything in return. These are the unsung heroes! Unsung heroes shaped modern
life. Unsung heroes do great deeds, but receive little or no recognition. However, we forget the heroes in our
own lives, in our community or even neighborhood.
Unsung heroes are hardly ever prominent, for they do not share any hall of fame which the world famous
heroes occupy. Enthusiastic fans cheer on their cricket heroes or movie heroes, however, there are many
working actively on the sidelines, transforming homes, painting schools, changing lives and meeting flood
victims.
There are many institutes like the Lowell Milken Center who acknowledge their work and give credit for
that. There are so many unsung heroes around us who work continuously so that the work is fully
accomplished. For example, the music bands that travel all over the world to perform shows cannot do their
work without the help of unsung heroes. Let us have a look at who are these people and how they contribute
to the society.
Bus drivers
Whenever any tour is organized, there are many buses which run day and night. Each bus driver has to drive
a minimum distance of 500 miles every time without taking any rest. Driving continuously without any rest
requires mettle and they must be given credit or their work.
Caterers
Just imagine cooking for 400-500 people everyday! It seems virtually impossible. But the caterers have done
it over and over again. During the tour, the caterers are ready to cook any time of the day.

Vendors
People who attend these shows and participate in the tours always like to collect souvenirs, CDs, T shirts etc.
For this, they go to merchandise vendors to purchase such products. Hence, merchandise vendors are also the
unsung heroes.
First aid personnel
These people are always on their toes to treat people for minor injuries, cuts and rehydrate the drained out
folks.
Production engineers
It is a huge challenge to organize more than 100 music bands and make them perform during a single tour.
Production engineers execute this activity very efficiently.
Thus all these people are the real heroes, who work backstage, play major role in the success of any event or
tour. Thus it is time to give them credit for what they do.
