Miami-Dade Louvers
The ECD-545-MD and EFD-637-MD are engineered and tested to withstand extreme loads,
debris impact, and cyclic fatigue failure associated with the severe weather effects of
hurricanes (ECD-545-MD has Miami-Dade approval # 11-0429.02 and the EFD-637-MD has
Miami-Dade approval # 11-0429.01).
Constructed from 6063-T5 extruded aluminum, both models have single section assemblies up
to 48" wide by 144" high. Specially designed water-resistant seam covers further enhance
performance and aesthetics of these industry leading products. Single-section louvers are now
available with the option of a factory-installed sleeve which allows louver installation without
any mechanical anchoring to the building condition.
All-Lite architectural products are designed for use in most geographical areas within the United States. All-Lite can also design, modify or reinforce standard products for special requirements, such as high wind, heavy snow, industrial environments, special
mounting conditions, etc. Consult your local representative for more information.
AMCA defines the beginning point of water penetration as the free area velocity at the intersection of a simple linear regression of test data and the line of 0.01 ounces of water per square foot of free area and is measured through a 48"x 48" louver during a 15 minute period.
The AMCA water penetration test provides a method for comparing louver models and designs as to their efficiency in resisting the penetration of rainfall under specific lab conditions. All-Lite recommends that intake louvers are selected with a reasonable margin of
safety below the beginning point of water penetration in order to avoid unwanted penetration during severe storm conditions. AMCA Wind Driven Rain Ratings based upon a test louver size having 39-3/8” x 39-3/8” core area.
Wind-Driven Rain Louvers
Backed by AMCA certification our wind-driven rain louvers offer exceptional protection under the most severe conditions and are
available in frame depths from 4" to 7". The closely spaced vertical blade design of the Florida Building Code approved
ECV-645 provides our most effective wind-driven rain performance with 100% effectiveness at wind velocities up to 50 mph and
rainfall up to 8 in/hr. When aesthetic requirements demand a more conventional horizontal blade profile our EFJ-745 is the ideal
solution with 5" on center traditional J-blade fascia and 100% effectiveness @ 3 in/hr rainfall.
All-Lite certifies that model ECD-445, ECD-545, ECD-635, ECD-745 and
ECV-545 shown hereon are licensed to bear the AMCA seal. The ratings
shown are based on test and procedures performed in accordance with
AMCA Publication 511 and comply with the requirements of the AMCA
Certified Ratings Program. The AMCA Certified Ratings Seal applies to
water penetration ratings, air performance and wind driven rain ratings.
AMCA defines the beginning point of water penetration as the free area velocity at the intersection of a
simple linear regression of test data and the line of 0.01 ounces of water per square foot of free area
and is measured through a 48"x 48" louver during a 15 minute period. The AMCA water penetration test
provides a method for comparing louver models and designs as to their efficiency in resisting the penetration
of rainfall under specific lab conditions. All-Lite recommends that intake louvers are selected with
a reasonable margin of safety below the beginning point of water penetration in order to avoid unwanted
penetration during severe storm conditions. AMCA Wind Driven Rain Ratings based upon a test louver
size having 39-3/8” x 39-3/8” core area.
Drainable Louvers
Drainable blade louvers are designed to prevent water penetration in non-wind-driven rain
applications by collecting water in the blade gutters and channeling it into frame downspouts
and away from airflow paths. Our ERD-645 incorporates a recessed mullion and
downspout that provides the appearance of a continuous drainable blade design.
EXD Combination louvers feature stationary front blades and operable rear blades to
ensure proper weather protection when open as well as a consistent appearance in
both the open and closed positions. Optional low leakage seals provide further
environmental protection in the closed position. Operable blade louvers provide weather
protection when open and positive shutoff when no airflow is required. These units incorporate
center pivoted blades that can be controlled manually with a pull chain, hand quadrant or hand
crank; or automatically with electric or pneumatic actuators.
EBE-445 and EBI-445 incorporate backdraft damper blades for automatic shutoff when there
is no airflow and can be used for either exhaust and intake applications.
The beginning point of water penetration is defined as the free area velocity at the intersection of a simple linear regression of test data and the line of 0.01 ounces of water per square foot of free area and is measured through a 48"x 48" louver during a 15 minute period.
The water penetration test provides a method for comparing louver models and designs as to their efficiency in resisting the penetration of rainfall under specific lab conditions. All-Lite recommends that intake louvers are selected with a reasonable margin of safety below
the beginning point of water penetration in order to avoid unwanted penetration during severe storm conditions.
Sight Screens
Whether the design calls for total sight concealment, partial screening, high volume airflow, specialty shapes, or thermal
shading, our sight screens are engineered to meet the most stringent project parameters while satisfying exacting
aesthetic requirements. The unique concealed support system of the HT-401 ensures proper structural support and a
true continuous blade look without the use of unsightly frames or vertical angles.
Grilles
Custom designed to meet each project’s unique requirements, our extruded aluminum
grilles are ideally suited for architectural accents, facades, screening and security barriers
either inside or outside the building. In addition to traditional welded construction we can
engineer unique and creative concealed fastening systems and hidden weld joints that
offer improved aesthetics and superior structural integrity.
Sunshades
Our sunshades provide distinctive architectural style to a building’s exterior while considerably reducing glare. They
do not cause snow load or water infiltration problems associated with solid membrane awnings. Sunshades also reduce
heat from sunlight in the summer. This keeps the building cool and saves energy, ideal for sustainable or “green” building
construction. Configured to meet each project’s individual requirements, our team can transform even the most complex
concepts into a stunning reality. Our standard sunshade information is shown below.
Penthouses
Accommodating individual job requirements, penthouses are constructed to virtually any
dimension. For added performance and flexibility, these units are available with most
louver models and include mitered or box corner designs, insulated roof systems,
operable and removable sections for equipment access as well as specialty screens and
filtration options. The EFD-637-MD-PH is 6" deep with 37-1/2° horizontal blades and the
EPJ-445 is 4" deep with 45° blades.
