What Is A 4-H Club
A 4-H Club is the most basic unit of 4-H. Some clubs
are large and some are small; however, a new club can
be organized with as few as 5 youth and a volunteer
club leader.
Clubs generally meet once or twice a month on a
regular schedule, which is determined by the families
in the club. The clubs may plan recreational activities,
community service projects, fundraisers and field trips.
AS 4-H club members children have the opportunity
to meet new people, make new friends, learn about
projects, participate in club trips and activities, and
more.
It does not cost anything to belong to 4-H. There are
no uniforms to buy or products to sell. 4-H is open
to all youths ages 5-18 and their families. There are a
variety of clubs which offer something for everyone.
The mission of the North Carolina State University
4-H Youth Development Program is to assist youth
and adults in becoming competent, coping, and contributing
members of a global society, developing
essential life skills through planned “learn by doing”
experiences.
