Speaker Biographies<br />
Matthias Chika Mordi is currently the Chief Executive and founder of<br />
Accender Africa. Mr. Mordi spent over twenty years as a central, retail and<br />
Investment Banker and co-led the team that built UBA plc from a troubled<br />
small Nigerian bank to Sub-Saharan Africa’s largest financial groups with<br />
over 14,000 employees in fifteen countries, in less than a decade. Matthias<br />
has served on the board of twenty-two financial institutions across Africa<br />
and the United Kingdom, several of which he incubated, including a bank<br />
he turned around as Chief Executive. He has also served as the alternate<br />
president of the West African Bankers’ Association, Chairman of the board<br />
of West Africa’s first Credit Bureau and several government committees. He<br />
is dedicated to reducing poverty in Africa and is a firm believer in Africa’s great potential.<br />
Linord R. Moudou is the producer and host of Healthy Living on Voice of<br />
America Telivision, and has worked as an independent journalist in Africa,<br />
Europe and the United States. She created, produced, and hosted “Spotlight<br />
on Africa,” a bilingual television and radio program. She has interviewed a<br />
range of political figures and artists throughout her career. Additionally, she<br />
is CEO and President of LIRAM Global Communications, a communication<br />
consulting agency concentrated in <strong>International</strong> Relations, event planning,<br />
and media productions. She has hosted many events in Africa, Europe and<br />
the United States, including The World Bank/IMF Gala in Washington, DC,<br />
the Kora All Africa Music Awards in South Africa, the Richard Bona concert in<br />
Paris, and the Panafrican Music Festival in the Republic of Congo.<br />
Jackson Mvunganyi is the host of Upfront a Youth oriented talk show on the<br />
Voice of America. Mr. Mvunganyi engages African youth on issues ranging<br />
from leadership, education, employment etc. His blog www.upfrontafrica has<br />
been mentioned as one of the unique sources of information about Africans.<br />
A native of Rwanda Mr. Mvunganyi has had a multi-faceted broadcasting<br />
career so far, working in both radio and television, in Africa and the United<br />
States. Mr. Mvunganyi is the co-founder and vice president of Rwanda<br />
<strong>International</strong> Network Association. He serves on the board advisors for of<br />
Indego Africa INDEGO AFRICA, and as a curator for Africa Gathering. He<br />
has moderated numerous academic panels around the country on issues<br />
ranging from Youth, Justice, Development, and Leadership.<br />
