THEME: Courage and Devotion
DESCRIPTION: Vivian Bullwinkel a little known Australian nurse of WW2. She survived a massacre by the Japanese and
years as a POW. She was pivotal in the care of polio victims, the development Nursing Education. She was recipient of
numerous Australian awards. Never forgetting her friends lost at Banka Island and unveiling a shrine to the nurses
who died there.
