<strong>FRIDAY</strong> 20 th <strong>JULY</strong>-Tonight you’re part of Global <strong>Rock</strong> <strong>Challenge</strong>, an Australian initiativethat now involves students in New Zealand, Japan, Germany, Qatar,the UK and the United Arab Emirates.:The students will be hitting the stage tonight embracing positive andhealthy lifestyle choices.The 2011 Australian tour will be raising the roof of eight of thenation’s top performance venues. More than 11,000 studentsparticipate in 14 shows across Australia to and an audience of close to40,000! <strong>Rock</strong> <strong>Eisteddfod</strong> <strong>Challenge</strong>® and J <strong>Rock</strong> are this year’sbiggest school based dance and drama extravaganzas.<strong>Rock</strong> <strong>Eisteddfod</strong> <strong>Challenge</strong>® encourages students to be their bestwithout the use of drugs, alcohol and tobacco. Whilst it has adaptedand evolved since 1980, the core goal is unchanged. Our primaryvision is to achieve social change through the use of the arts byinspiring creative thinking among the youth who shape our future.With students, teachers, parents and communities working togetherhelping to prepare each school’s performance, we are positive thatwe are achieving our goal. J <strong>Rock</strong> is a non-competitive event, everyschool leaves a winner.
