From Karen Lyall: Jesse Daves ’95 and
Sarah Montgomery ’95 started the
nonprofit, The Garden’s Edge, many years
ago. Sarah is providing seed grants to
farmers in Guatemala, for the ability to save
and exchange native seeds while preventing
the GMO corporations from profiting from
small farms. She has been dedicated to
this work for some time. She is also a local
farmer with her husband, Prep alumnus
Jesse Daves.
In May, the
bar owned

Safford ’95 and
her husband Scott
was featured on
the fifth season of
the Food Network’s “The Great Food Truck
Race”. The couple owns the “Tap & Bottle,”
a popular craft beer and wine tasting room
and bottle shop located in downtown
Tucson, Arizona.
Heather (Horn) ’96
and Joe Paar welcomed
Breesa Joy into the world
May 7, 2014. Breesa joins
big sisters Pearle, 5, and
Livia, 3. Breesa weighed
in at 8 pounds even.
Heather is a Certified
Nurse Midwife and the
Medical Director for Midwifery at Swedish
Medical Center in Seattle, WA.
Alli (Bivins) ’98 and her husband Nick
Bongianni welcomed their first child,
Nicholas William Bongianni, into their
family on August 29, 2014 in Mesa, AZ.
The little man was born at 5:21 am and was
eight pounds, seven ounces and 21 inches
long. In March 2015 Alli will graduate from
A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic
Medicine in Arizona with a Master of
Occupational Therapy.
Dr. Emily Bowlin ’98 married Eric
Wolters July 26, 2014 in Kailua-Kona,
Hawaii.
Kevin Quinlan ’99 has published his first
book, The Secret War Between the Wars:
MI5 in the 1920s and 1930s (Boydell Press),
based on his doctoral
research completed
at the University
of Cambridge. He
currently works at the
Department of Energy
in Washington, DC,
where he is also an MBA
candidate at Georgetown
University.

’00 and Cory Dulberg
welcomed a baby girl to
their family. Eden Hope
was born on May 6, 2014
in Denver, CO. Rena works
with Johnson & Wales
University.
We’re happy to have another alumni
couple! Jacob Kubie ’00 and Angela
Turner ’00 were married in Denver
on June 28, 2014. The
Sundevils met in 6th
grade at Sandia Prep and
were friends through
high school. “The Sandia
Prep connection is very
important to us, and
we wanted to share our
news with the alumni
community.”
