About The Seminar:
Vedas, the originator of all material, subtle and
supera-mental knowledge can be defined as
“knowledge powerhouse”. Vedic scriptures are full of invaluable treasures. The science, technology,
philosophy, mathematics and many more segments of modern science are yet to be explored and
mined out.
The Vedic literature canvass is so vast that it may need billions of terabytes to get it on any form of
media as data. Vedas, Upnishads, Aranyaks and Brahmans definitely show the technical superiority of
the glorious Vedic period and it is yet to be materialised and matched out in the modern world. This is
the era of IT wherein vast amount of information is being poured and processed through various IT
tools from innumerable sources with a baffling and confounding speed. Various innovations are
working towards macro to micro miniatures.
Modern man with his hunger for attaining more and more material comforts being offered to him on a
platter by the ever widening frontiers of science. It cannot be persuaded to accept the eternal values of

life propagated by ancient Rishis in Vedas unless and until these were proved to be scientifically viable
for the welfare of an individual and the society. All we need is to revive the ancient knowledge base to
get its benefits to enhance modern technology and to trace all the latest discoveries imprints in Vedas
to make it more standardised.
The recent researches and innovations in the field of Information Technology & Computer Science look
to be in vital stage. The combination of Vedic studies and information technology may open up various
opportunities for the laureates of both the field and definitely benefit the social and spiritual
development of the world. The present seminar is a unique effort to mingle up the Vedic scholars with
cyber technocrats to provide them a common platform from where they can propound the “Vedic
Informatics” theories for technological implementations.
Considering the needs and significance of Vedic studies and information technology, the Department
of Computer Science, Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar is organizing this National Seminar
with an objective to collect, assimilate and apply researches conducted in this area in various parts of
innovation and concrete space for the knowledge based society.
