Customer Service Update
-- Sharing Information And Smiles For The Past 30 Years --
For the past 30 years, OAK’s Visitor Information Program (VIP) volunteers have provided excellent customer service
to our passengers and visitors. Currently, a team of 90 volunteers, many who are native to the San Francisco Bay Area,
offer extensive knowledge of the region’s cultures, traditions and attractions.
Each day, these OAK ambassadors greet and direct customers to their destinations with ease. Most commonly asked
questions include:
- where is my gate?
- where can I get something to eat?
- how do I rent a car?
- where are the shuttles to...?
- how can I have someone paged?, and
- where do I find flight information?
OAK volunteers are located in both terminals and have answers to these questions and many, many more.
Airport ambassadors are easily identified by their bright smiles, warm personalities and bright red blazers. In Terminal
1, the VIP booths are located in the baggage claim area and just past the passenger security checkpoint. The new
baggage claim area in Terminal 2 houses a state-of-the-art VIP booth. Hours of service are 8 a.m. to midnight, seven
days a week in both terminals. OAK volunteers look forward to serving you soon.
