A Magyar Szabadalmi Hivatal kutatásai alapján francia, német, svájci, osztrák,<br />
olasz, ausztrál, angol, holland, amerikai szabadalmi dokumentumokat tartalmazó<br />
adatbázisokban számos olyan szabadalom található, amely említi Kempelent.<br />
A US 4398720A jelzetű, 1983. augusztus 16-án bejegyzett szabadalom címe<br />
Robot Chess Game. A bejegyzés egy robottechnikával megvalósított sakkozógépre<br />
vonatkozik, mely a leíráson és 17 ábrán keresztül mutatja be a szerkezetet, valamint<br />
annak vezérlési diagramját. A szabadalomból kiderül, hogy a feltalálók fantáziáját<br />
hogyan inspirálta egy, a 18. században megalkotott sakkozógép. Ugyanebbe a szabadalomcsaládba<br />
négy további, a sakkozógéppel kapcsolatos szabadalom tartozik.<br />

According to research by the Hungarian Patent Office, in databases of French,<br />
German, Swiss, Austrian, Australian, Italian, English, Dutch, American patent documents,<br />
there are several patents from the 19th and 20th centuries which mention<br />
Kempelen by name. The patent marked as US 4398720A, registered on 16 August<br />
1983, is entitled Robot Chess Game. The patent concerns a chess machine that<br />
employs robotic technology; the application describes the apparatus and its<br />
control in text and 17 figures. The document reveals how the inventors´ fantasy<br />
was inspired by a chess machine built in the 18th century. The same patent family<br />
includes four further patents related to the chess automaton.
