INVITATIONS<br />

Teams of Pony, Junior and Young Riders are invited to compete from <strong>Dressage</strong> Ireland.<br />

British <strong>Dressage</strong> and <strong>Dressage</strong> U21s <strong>UK</strong>. Any rider wishing to compete at the Marlton<br />

U25s Championships, should contact their relevant Organisation for qualifying criteria.<br />

Invitations are extended on the following basis:<br />

<strong>Dressage</strong> Ireland: A maximum of 32 riders. 32<br />

British <strong>Dressage</strong>: Central Region One each of P/J/YR Team = 12<br />

Eastern Region One each of P/J/YR Team 12<br />

North West Region One each of P/J/YR Team 12<br />

Northern Region One each of P/J/YR Team 12<br />

Scotland Region One each of P/J/YR Team 12<br />

South West Region One each of P/J/YR Team 12<br />

Southern Region One each of P/J/YR Team 12<br />

<strong>Dressage</strong> U21s <strong>UK</strong> One each of P/J/YR Team 12<br />

Total Number of Team Riders expected. 140<br />

As not every organisation/region will field the full complement of teams every year it may<br />

be possible to accommodate extra teams, which will be decided after close of entries.<br />

Riders may compete with a maximum of 2 horses/ponies and a rider with 2 animals may<br />

be a member of 2 different teams.<br />

Preference will be given to Teams in these Championships. Riders wishing to compete<br />

as individuals may enter in <strong>2011</strong>. They will be allocated slots only after all team placed<br />

have been filled. If a rider is on a team and wishes to compete a second horse/pony as<br />

an individual they may enter and again be placed on a waiting list and allocated a slot<br />

only after all team places have been filled. Riders entered as Individuals may be placed<br />

on mixed Teams at the Organiser`s discretion.<br />

All Regions/Groups. Please contact the Organiser at Marlton Stud through your own<br />

Chef d`Equipes. who are responsible for entries, etc. This minimises the time taken to<br />

reply to all the emails and telephone call. With 140 riders expected this does amount<br />

to a huge amount of time involved with the paperwork. Your co-operation is appreciated.


TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS RULES<br />

There will be a Championship for each Pony, Junior and Young Rider Teams.<br />

PONY TEAM Riders 12 years and over and under 16years on 1 st Jan <strong>2011</strong><br />

Ponies 5 years and over and height max 149cms with shoes<br />

JUNIOR TEAM Riders 14 years and over and under 18 years on 1 st Jan <strong>2011</strong><br />

Horses only 5 years and over<br />

YR TEAM Riders aged over 16 years and under 25 years on 1 st Jan <strong>2011</strong><br />

Horses only - 5 years and over. (New Rules)<br />

TEAMS should consist of 3 or 4 riders with the best three scores to count.<br />

Riders may choose one test from Classes 2- 4- 6 -7 on Saturday 2nd<br />

Riders may choose one test from Classes 9 -11 -13 -14 on Sunday 3rd<br />

All Team riders may ride at the same level.<br />

Riders may enter any other class as Individuals.<br />

Where insufficient riders are available to make up a team no substitutions are allowed:-<br />

Young Rider Teams may only consist of Riders (17 – 25 years) on horses.<br />

Junior Teams may only consist of Riders (14 -17 years) on horses<br />

Pony Teams may only consist of Riders. (12 -16 years) on ponies.<br />

INDIVIDUAL CHAMPIONSHIPS RULES<br />

Championships will be awarded at all standards on the combined results of both<br />

days tests. To win a Championship at any level a competitor must compete in all<br />

tests at that level. EG 4 Novice Tests – 4 Elementary Tests – 4 Medium Tests<br />

2 Advanced Tests (one on each day).<br />

INDIVIDUAL CLASSES<br />

New Rule: British <strong>Dressage</strong>/<strong>Dressage</strong> U21s <strong>UK</strong> now allowed to send Individual Riders.<br />

Rosettes will be awarded 1 st – 6 th minimum for each class.<br />

More rosettes may be awarded at the organiser`s discretion if large classes


ENTRIES<br />

Entries close Monday 13 th June <strong>2011</strong><br />

Withdrawals Monday 22 rd June <strong>2011</strong>.<br />

Entry Fee £25 per class (entry fees will be allowed by payment in Stirling if wanted)..<br />

All entries and stabling must be paid in full by close of entries. After withdrawal date no<br />

refunds can be made (except for prepaid BBQ tickets which will be refunded in the event<br />

if a rider is unable to compete at the show).<br />

Entries must be accompanied by the full entry in euro and stabling fee.<br />

Entries in Cash, Irish cheques or bank draft with entries. Cheques to be made out to<br />

Marlton <strong>Dressage</strong>. Entries and payment may also be made on line – please visit<br />

www.marltonstud.com for details.<br />

STABLING<br />

Stabling on site is £35 per night with a cash refund of £10 per night if the stable is left<br />

clean when you leave. This money will only be refunded by the Stable Manager<br />

immediately prior to departure. A basic sawdust bedding is included. Shavings may be<br />

bought ion site £12 per bale. Haylage can be bought at £12 per bale.<br />

Baileys horse feeds can be bought on site by booking in advance through Chefs.<br />

Please advise approximate quantity of haylage/shavings required when entering.<br />

FACILITIES<br />

All tests and warm-up on an artificial surface. Grass warm up and lunging available.<br />

Lorry parking with hook-up is available. Some lorries will be accommodated on hard<br />

standing – some will be parked in a field with a generator for plug in.<br />

Toilets and Showers are available on site.<br />

Camping Charge for each lorry @ £20 for the first night with an additional £10 for each<br />

subsequent night.<br />

COFFEE SHOP - CANTEEN will be open on site from Friday 1 st July <strong>2011</strong>.<br />

A list of hotels and B & Bs is available from the Marlton Secretary on request.<br />

B & Bs approx. £40 per person per night – Hotels from £60 pppn.<br />

TROT UP<br />

The Trot Up will be held on Friday 1 st July in the morning. Times will be posted on the<br />

website , along with the competition times. Please note PASSPORTS will be inspected.<br />

Horses and ponies who do not appear at the Trot Up will not be allowed to compete.<br />

Whilst it is desirable that riders trot up their own mounts, this is not essential. Horses and<br />

ponies should be clean and plaited and riders should be neatly dressed.<br />

ARENA WALK<br />

Competitors may ride in all competition arenas at walk only at the allocated times on<br />

Friday 1 st July <strong>2011</strong>. Times for the Arena Walk are available on Wednesday 30 th June<br />

GENERAL CONDITIONS<br />

The Show will run under <strong>Dressage</strong> Ireland Rules – a copy is available from the secretary<br />

or can be downloaded from www.dressageireland.ie<br />

In the interest of health and safety the directions given by the STEWARDS and the<br />

ORGANISERS must be followed at all times. Competitors are expected to conduct<br />

themselves in a manner befitting the sport. Rude and abusive behaviour towards people<br />

and or animals will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Dogs must be kept leads<br />

at all times.<br />

Emergency telephone numbers are posted in the Secretary`s Office and Stable Area.<br />

LOCATION<br />

Marlton Stud is situated on the outskirts of Wicklow Town, 30 miles south of Dublin and<br />

70 miles north of the port of Rosslare, just off the N11.<br />

From Rosslare<br />

Take the N11 towards Dublin. Approximate driving time 1½ to 2hours in a lorry.<br />

Turn RIGHT at the BEEHIVE PUB (signposted for Wicklow. Marlton Stud is exactly 4km<br />

from this turn. On your LEFT will be a Sandwich Board sign Marlton Stud Show.<br />

From Dublin<br />

Dublin is very busy in the rush hour. Ferry docks at 5.15 pm. Allow an 1 hour to Marlton.<br />

Take the N11 out of Dublin south. Stay on the N11 passing all signs to Wicklow until on<br />

your left you reach the BEEHIVE PUB. Turn left here and exactly 4km on your LEFT is<br />

a Sandwich Board sign saying Marlton Stud Show.

After landing travel south for 45 minutes. Dublin very busy at this time.<br />

abroad – Southern Ireland is part of the EU. You may need a Green Card for fuel.
