INVITATIONS
Teams of Pony, Junior and Young Riders are invited to compete from Dressage Ireland.
British Dressage and Dressage U21s UK. Any rider wishing to compete at the Marlton
U25s Championships, should contact their relevant Organisation for qualifying criteria.
Invitations are extended on the following basis:
Dressage Ireland: A maximum of 32 riders. 32
British Dressage: Central Region One each of P/J/YR Team = 12
Eastern Region One each of P/J/YR Team 12
North West Region One each of P/J/YR Team 12
Northern Region One each of P/J/YR Team 12

Southern Region One each of P/J/YR Team 12

Dressage U21s UK One each of P/J/YR Team 12
Total Number of Team Riders expected. 140
As not every organisation/region will field the full complement of teams every year it may
be possible to accommodate extra teams, which will be decided after close of entries.
Riders may compete with a maximum of 2 horses/ponies and a rider with 2 animals may
be a member of 2 different teams.
Preference will be given to Teams in these Championships. Riders wishing to compete
as individuals may enter in 2011. They will be allocated slots only after all team placed
have been filled. If a rider is on a team and wishes to compete a second horse/pony as
an individual they may enter and again be placed on a waiting list and allocated a slot
only after all team places have been filled. Riders entered as Individuals may be placed
on mixed Teams at the Organiser`s discretion.

All Regions/Groups. Please contact the Organiser at Marlton Stud through your own
Chef d`Equipes. who are responsible for entries, etc. This minimises the time taken to
reply to all the emails and telephone call. With 140 riders expected this does amount
to a huge amount of time involved with the paperwork. Your co-operation is appreciated.

TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS RULES
There will be a Championship for each Pony, Junior and Young Rider Teams.
PONY TEAM Riders 12 years and over and under 16years on 1 st Jan 2011
Ponies 5 years and over and height max 149cms with shoes
JUNIOR TEAM Riders 14 years and over and under 18 years on 1 st Jan 2011
Horses only 5 years and over
YR TEAM Riders aged over 16 years and under 25 years on 1 st Jan 2011
Horses only - 5 years and over. (New Rules)
TEAMS should consist of 3 or 4 riders with the best three scores to count.
Riders may choose one test from Classes 2- 4- 6 -7 on Saturday 2nd
Riders may choose one test from Classes 9 -11 -13 -14 on Sunday 3rd
All Team riders may ride at the same level.
Riders may enter any other class as Individuals.
Where insufficient riders are available to make up a team no substitutions are allowed:-
Young Rider Teams may only consist of Riders (17 – 25 years) on horses.
Junior Teams may only consist of Riders (14 -17 years) on horses
Pony Teams may only consist of Riders. (12 -16 years) on ponies.
INDIVIDUAL CHAMPIONSHIPS RULES
Championships will be awarded at all standards on the combined results of both
days tests. To win a Championship at any level a competitor must compete in all
tests at that level. EG 4 Novice Tests – 4 Elementary Tests – 4 Medium Tests
2 Advanced Tests (one on each day).

INDIVIDUAL CLASSES
New Rule: British Dressage/Dressage U21s UK now allowed to send Individual Riders.
Rosettes will be awarded 1 st – 6 th minimum for each class.
More rosettes may be awarded at the organiser`s discretion if large classes

ENTRIES
Entries close Monday 13 th June 2011
Withdrawals Monday 22 rd June 2011.
Entry Fee £25 per class (entry fees will be allowed by payment in Stirling if wanted)..
All entries and stabling must be paid in full by close of entries. After withdrawal date no
refunds can be made (except for prepaid BBQ tickets which will be refunded in the event
if a rider is unable to compete at the show).
Entries must be accompanied by the full entry in euro and stabling fee.
Entries in Cash, Irish cheques or bank draft with entries. Cheques to be made out to
Marlton Dressage. Entries and payment may also be made on line – please visit
www.marltonstud.com for details.
STABLING
Stabling on site is £35 per night with a cash refund of £10 per night if the stable is left
clean when you leave. This money will only be refunded by the Stable Manager
immediately prior to departure. A basic sawdust bedding is included. Shavings may be
bought ion site £12 per bale. Haylage can be bought at £12 per bale.
Baileys horse feeds can be bought on site by booking in advance through Chefs.
Please advise approximate quantity of haylage/shavings required when entering.
FACILITIES
All tests and warm-up on an artificial surface. Grass warm up and lunging available.
Lorry parking with hook-up is available. Some lorries will be accommodated on hard
standing – some will be parked in a field with a generator for plug in.
Toilets and Showers are available on site.
Camping Charge for each lorry @ £20 for the first night with an additional £10 for each
subsequent night.
COFFEE SHOP - CANTEEN will be open on site from Friday 1 st July 2011.
A list of hotels and B & Bs is available from the Marlton Secretary on request.
B & Bs approx. £40 per person per night – Hotels from £60 pppn.
TROT UP
The Trot Up will be held on Friday 1 st July in the morning. Times will be posted on the
website , along with the competition times. Please note PASSPORTS will be inspected.
Horses and ponies who do not appear at the Trot Up will not be allowed to compete.
Whilst it is desirable that riders trot up their own mounts, this is not essential. Horses and
ponies should be clean and plaited and riders should be neatly dressed.
ARENA WALK
Competitors may ride in all competition arenas at walk only at the allocated times on
Friday 1 st July 2011. Times for the Arena Walk are available on Wednesday 30 th June

GENERAL CONDITIONS
The Show will run under Dressage Ireland Rules – a copy is available from the secretary
or can be downloaded from www.dressageireland.ie
In the interest of health and safety the directions given by the STEWARDS and the
ORGANISERS must be followed at all times. Competitors are expected to conduct
themselves in a manner befitting the sport. Rude and abusive behaviour towards people
and or animals will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Dogs must be kept leads
at all times.
Emergency telephone numbers are posted in the Secretary`s Office and Stable Area.
LOCATION
Marlton Stud is situated on the outskirts of Wicklow Town, 30 miles south of Dublin and
70 miles north of the port of Rosslare, just off the N11.
From Rosslare
Take the N11 towards Dublin. Approximate driving time 1½ to 2hours in a lorry.
Turn RIGHT at the BEEHIVE PUB (signposted for Wicklow. Marlton Stud is exactly 4km
from this turn. On your LEFT will be a Sandwich Board sign Marlton Stud Show.
From Dublin
Dublin is very busy in the rush hour. Ferry docks at 5.15 pm. Allow an 1 hour to Marlton.
Take the N11 out of Dublin south. Stay on the N11 passing all signs to Wicklow until on
your left you reach the BEEHIVE PUB. Turn left here and exactly 4km on your LEFT is
a Sandwich Board sign saying Marlton Stud Show.

After landing travel north for 1½ hours. Good roads.

Ferry crossing approx 4 hours on the conventional slow ferry.
After landing travel south for 45 minutes. Dublin very busy at this time.
Sails at 1.50pm and arrives at approximately 5.10pm

PONIES must be vetted by a DEFRA Vet before sailing.
If sailing from Fishguard it has to be done at home the week before.
If sailing from Holyhead it will be done at the Port by arranging with a vet.
I have the forms for you to apply for this. It is all FREE of charge.
PEOPLE will need passports – or full ID.
You need to check your lorry Insurance to make sure you are covered for being
abroad – Southern Ireland is part of the EU. You may need a Green Card for fuel.
