Health and Safety
Workplace safety is a serious matter,
particularly when many of our staff
are on the road or in remote field
locations. Our Health and Safety
program has been specifically
built to provide all staff with the
best possible training, policies and
procedures ensuring their safety and
well-being no matter where the job
takes them. We require everyone
who works with us in any capacity
(be it employees, contractors,
volunteers, visitors, etc.) to comply
with ACA’s Health and Safety
policies and procedures for the
protection of themselves and others.
2012/13 Overview
• Ensured all aspects of ACA’s Health
and Safety program met or exceeded
the standards established within the
Certificate of Recognition (COR) program
––
The program was reviewed, ensuring
policies and procedures were consistently
adhered to and appropriate records
maintained.
• Reviewed and updated the Health and
Safety Manual throughout the year by
incorporating insight, comments and
suggestions from ACA staff
• Realized an overall reduction in the
number of workplace incidents
––
No specific type of workplace
hazard was identified as particularly
significant or common among ACA work
environments. This can be attributed to
increased awareness and appropriate
proactive or preventative actions taken
by ACA staff. All incidents at ACA are
reviewed to reduce or eliminate potential
hazards.
