THE ERA OF SECTIONAL CONFLICT, 1848-1870.<br />

1848 New constitution r<strong>at</strong>ified by the people,<br />

<strong>of</strong> Wisconsin's opposition, Congress<br />

confirmed the northern boundary <strong>of</strong> <strong>Illinois</strong><br />
