<strong>Part</strong> 1<br />
<strong>Miss</strong> Porter’ rs merit scholarships in amounts ranging from $5,000 to half tuition grants, <strong>for</strong> girls with special<br />
talents. <strong>Scholarship</strong>s may be renewed <strong>for</strong> up to four years (dependent on successful academic per<strong>for</strong>mance and continued<br />
involvement at Porter’s in the arts, athletics, or leadership and community service.) These scholarships may be supplemented<br />
with an additional grant, if a student qualifies <strong>for</strong> need-based financial assistance.<br />

Fine Arts <strong>Trustee</strong> <strong>Scholarship</strong><br />
To win this scholarship, you must demonstrate strong academic achievement and show talent in the fine arts (vocal or<br />
instrumental music, dance, theatre, or visual arts.)<br />
Athletics <strong>Trustee</strong> <strong>Scholarship</strong><br />
If you are an outstanding student who also has athletic talent in one of the interscholastic spor red at Porter’s you can<br />
apply <strong>for</strong> this scholarship. Sports red are: badminton, basketball, crew, cross country, field hockey, golf, lacrosse, riding,<br />
soccer, skiing, softball, squash, swimming, tennis, ultimate Frisbee, and volleyball.<br />
Leadership and Service <strong>Trustee</strong> <strong>Scholarship</strong><br />
This award is <strong>for</strong> a student with an excellent academic record who has demonstrated outstanding leadership skills and/or a<br />
strong commitment to community service.<br />
<strong>Application</strong> Deadline: January 15.<br />
Recipients of the <strong>Trustee</strong> <strong>Scholarship</strong>s will be notified on March 10.
All applicants <strong>for</strong> <strong>Trustee</strong> <strong>Scholarship</strong>s are required to submit:<br />

2. Letter of Recommendation<br />
from an adult who supervises you in your area of expertise, <strong>for</strong> example, music or dance instructor, coach, or teacher.<br />

Photography - Submit a portfolio containing a minimum of 10 pieces. May be in slide <strong>for</strong>mat or photographs.<br />

Painting/Drawing - Submit a portfolio containing a minimum of 10 pieces. Portfolio may include, but is not<br />
limited to, prints, collages, or computer graphics. Work may be presented in slides, but there must be a minimum of<br />

All 9th and 10th grade applicants with extensive leadership or community service experience will be considered <strong>for</strong> this<br />
scholarship upon applying <strong>for</strong> admission. You may submit additional in<strong>for</strong>mation that details your community or<br />
